It will be an intersting game next week, both sides are going to be low on confidence IMO and Arsenal are terrible at the back.
As Jammy says if we concede early it will be a long afternoon, keep it 0-0 until half time and i think we will get something

We're shíte. The perfect team to play when you're low on confidence. They'll put 5 or more past us.

I'm usually quite optimistic about us getting results but how can I be, recently?

Arsenal fourth bottom with players like Everton cast off Arteta bossing their midfield these days - they aren't as good as they once were.
A six pointer already on Saturday maybe?

Everton cast-off? 1. They didn't want him to go, but got £10m+ add-ons for him. 2. He'd walk into our team and most in the PL. 3. Everton have 7pts from 4 games without him, so they're not that bad a side either. Arsenal will score 4+ against us: my guess is 5.

Too true. Been that way for a while.
We are playing Arsenal, we have been dicked many times away at Arsenal whether it be Megson, Big Sam or Owen Coyle and we have been in far better form and still got hammered so stop talking bollocks.

It's time for the Arsenal thread before the Villa thread turns into a "what to do against Arsenal" thread.
What do we do then?
If Coyle goes back to his usual selection and formation and we lose there will be hell to pay I am sure. If he goes with the team (or most of them) who beat Villa away and kept a clean sheet who could argue, even if we do lose?
There are a couple of changes I would make to the Villa game, most pressing would be to keep Boyata in. He is a really awesome player who we should be looking to sign permanently.
Bodgan Boyata Cahill Wheater Gardner Eagles Holden Muamba Pratley Petrov Ngog
Reasons: Boyata is better than Steinsson, he was only left out because ineligible. Petrov has started the season quite well and although our left side has been a weak link we now have Gardner who has great pace and a great engine to strengthen that side. Also we should no be as weak as we were if we keep Muamba in front of the back four as well. I would love to start Kakuta but would perhaps have him for impact in place of Petrov or Eagles - whoever is the least effective of the two by 50 mins.
Bogdan, Wheater, Holden and Ngog have to all start or else Coyle is cocking up big time. Probably Gardner too if he has noticed how many times we have been cut open down the left back slot.

Oc will probably start with BKD despite a great result like that against a fairly strong Villa team, clean sheet for the first time in ages etc etc. Hopefully the lessons will have sunk in though, and if he goes 451 without Robbo and Knight, and with Muamba covering I'd go for 2 - 2 at the Emirates.
Holden - Muamba - Pratley look like a great midfield engine although NRC may be preferrred to Muamba despite the fact we've shipped goals like crazy without Fabrice.
Kakuta should play - I'm afraid Petrov hasn't done the business IMO.

I do get where you are coming from with Petrov as even though I think he started strongly I continue to have reservations about his effectiveness in games. However I have never seen Kakuta play so I don't know what the difference will be, I was presuming young, inexperienced maybe a liability - but saying that just look at Boyata, young, inexperienced yet looks like one of our most accomplished players to me.
We all know that in a 5 man midfield Muamba can do his job well, it is when we start experimenting and putting him in 442 that it goes wrong for him in general. I hope Coyle realises this and sticks with Muamba at the Emirates.
Also, you are right we have shipped goals like mad with the previous favourites, Robinson, Jussi, Knight, NRC - and with all of them out we conceded zero away from home. We just have to keep the main frame of tonight's team intact if it is to make any sense.
Also, NRC (this could be a whole other thread) he really has not done it for me yet. I have seen glimpses of good stuff but far too much bad. However for some reason there seems to be a very strong camp that thinks he is our best performer so far this season. To me he seems to give in too easily on so many challenges, gives the ball away with poor passes, gets caught severely out of position, reacts more slowly than Muamba for example, gets caught in possession too much. I do think there is a lot of potential there to tap into and he could be a big part of BWFC future if we tap into the talent he has but so far no good imho.

Bogdan, Gardner, Cahill, Wheater, Boyata, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Holden, Pratley, Eagles, Ngog.
To be honest, I don't know how it didn't occur earlier to Coyle that Gardner could be a better left back than Robbo. But I really hope he sees the light this weekend.

If we play 451 with Muamba shielding the back 4 and basically keep the winning team from last night (which we won't) I'd go for 2 - 2.
