The 4-4-2 formation Owen Coyle has been playing just seems wrong to me. We cannot compete in the centre of midfield when we play a 4-4-2 and with Klasnic and Davies up front it just seems like a waste of an outfield player because they are just not good enough.
Isn't it time we switched to the formation that we were so good playing in under Big Sam - a 4-3-3 with a holding midfielder behind to central midfielders and then one striker with two players out wide helping the full backs but also joining the sole striker when we are attacking?

It alarms me that Coyle plays a 4-4-2 regardless of being home or away and who we are playing. I thought against United last week the biggest mistake was the formation and how easy they found it to attack us.

I think Coyle also needs to get the players closing down space all the time when the opposition gets the ball, make it hard for the opposition to play and find space.

I think if Coyle plays a 4-4-2 next week at Arsenal it shows he is incapable of adapting and changing. It is time for changes - we've lost 9 of our last 10 league games and things clearly aren't working as they are.

We obviously need to try something different. Will Coyle do this? I really don't know at the moment.

I have just realised people are talking about the formation on the Coyle interview post.

I don't think Coyle will change the formation, at all. He should do, and change the personnel but I can't see that happening, unless we get some injuries and he is forced to make changes.

We gave up two set-piece goals today, I'm not sure exactly how switching formation would have affected that.

Our overall play was awful and we probably would not have scored even if the game was 0-0.

What is it with you H.Pedersen - do you like hospital food or something?
I am not just on about yesterday's game, I am on about how the current formation isn't working for us, 9 defeats in the last 10 league games, we look so weak in the middle of the park, is there any point us playing both Klasnic and Kevin Davies when they do so little. We need to be hard to beat and break down and currently with this formation its child's play to beat us. We used to be so hard to beat under Big Sam, now we're like taking candy off a baby.
Now pull yourself together and see the bigger picture before I lose my rag with you.

Well no Klasnic for 3 games,Davies badly out of form, Ngog to start for me and if he still insists on 2 strikers, start with Gael Kakuta, cant do any worse and at least some pace upfront if nothing else.
