They probably play 4-5-1 away from home in every game.

Yeah probably.
No point having any tactics really.
Just pick three numbers that add up to ten and stick with that.
Easy.

In fairness if we're ever going to play 4-4-2 then surely Norwich at home is the time.

What a load of tosh. Did Owen really say we dominated the game?

Yes I probably would agree. BUT the fact that we've only played that way for the last 700 games does give them plenty of time to plan for it and to practice on the training ground how to counter it and which players to pick in their team to best deal with it. So they would have be thrown completely if we had tried something different - you know something totally unexpected. But wtf do I know about anything? (5 consecutive league home defeats – the worst run in the clubs illustrious history, lost 11 of the last 13 league away games, lost 9 out of 10 of our last league games - In Owen we trust!).

We did dominate the second half.
We had the players to beat norwich in any formation but they didn't perform.
If he went 4-5-1 today and this was the result people would be saying "oh he's a fcuking negative twat"

The stats at the end of the second half said we had 53% possession - hardly dominating really - and we are talking about a team that was in the third division less than 18 months ago you know! Having the players and knowing how to get the best from them is about management is it not? You think it better that Coyle sticks with the tactics that has amassed just 3 points out of the last 30? I don't. Wtf do I know anyway?

Sluffy, you are making the same point on 5 different threads. We get it, Coyle is tactically inept. Sir Nut was banned for a similar thing, I think a "day off" might be in order for you to cool down.

You're right Natasha.
I'm obviously upsetting people for not having blind faith in Mr Coyle's footballing strategy and questioning his ability in this area of management.
I'll give myself a day's holiday about saying anything more about it on here - I wouldn't like to wake anybody up from their stupor over Owen's tactical nous.

It's not all about Coyle's tactics, it's also about poor players with no passion. Enjoy your day off, it's for the best.

But seriously, he already has a job.
We need a manager with passion. We need a manager who's won stuff as a player so the players respect him for what he achieved, we need a manager not scared to drop the Knights & Robinsons of this world.
Graeme Souness.

Well I am surprised it's come to this so early in the season to be honest, we are actually talking about sacking Coyle.
Not surprised after the last 4 performances though.

You asked for suggestions. Surely you see that we need more passion, someone who has the players respect?
If not Graeme Souness what about Barry Fry?

I just want someone who cares, but doesn't worship the players as though they're all Pele. I don't really care who he is, I just want the manager to feel as pissed as me when we surrender to teams like Norwich.

Only one option then. I must be made the manager of Bolton Wanderers asap.
