What was the coverage like in the UK, Sluffy?  Obviously it was a major event but the world was much less connected then, and certainly there was no 24 hour news cycle.

Well it was back in the old days (1963) and I was to young to really understand the importance of the event.

I remember it being more in the newspapers - and in particular a magazine (although I don't know which one) than on the TV (black and white back then) and radio.

I probably was too young to be able to read much but I do remember the pictures.

Also remember Jack Ruby shooting Oswald.

I try not to watch the programmes on 9/11 or read the stories about the extremists who support what happened as it fills me with sorrow and anger.I can feel myself filling up with hatred for the muslim race and i know its unfair as there is many many muslims who are decent law abiding citizens. And its unfair to label them all.

One thing i ill say though is that if anybody is found supporting terror in any way they should be shot,i dont think many people would disagree with that.

I'd like to think you meant the vast majority on that one mate.

Anyone concerned in terrorism should be tied up  in a darkened room and left without food and water until such a time they let out their last breath. I don't care if they be a Muslim extremist or some Irish halfwit who is clinging onto some historical bollocks that happened generations before they were born. They give up any human rights when they decided to take the lives on innocents for the sake of their 'cause'.

I would agree with you there.

"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."!

Just to play Devils advocate - If say the Afghan Army had soldiers on the streets of England, overthrew our elected Government and replaced it with one that was 'friendly' to them and hunted down everyone who opposed them - would you stand up and fight them?

If so you would be considered a terrorist - whilst I would consider you a freedom fighter.

It all depends on which side of the fence you view things I guess.

I know that DP will probably rip my cyber nuts off - but the whole Israel v Palestine thing grips my shíte. You can't slowly keep taking away someones land and not expect that group of people not to want retaliate? Terrorism on an international scale is one thing, but that's outright war with your direct neighbours who have no military infrastructure to retaliate.

In a way you are saying Israel is a bad place, making you an anti-semite which makes you like Hitler which makes your gypsy bride Eva Braun, it all is falling into place.

Back in 1948 when Israel was declared an independent country, no-one could have anticipated the problems it would cause. The world is a totally different place because the demographics have changed quite dramatically.

I don't know what the answer is, but the day that the UK becomes a Sharia state is the day that I will begin my dirty protest. It wont come to that, fortunately, because December 21, 2012 is not all that far off.
