Hopefully this will be make Owen see sense and drop some of his favourites because Knight and Eagles are clearly not good enough and as much as I appreciate the effort Davies has shown over the years it is obviously for all to see that he can no longer do it.

United may well have played well but we was equally as poor and need to start playing some of the new additions rather than force the issue with the same players because we will piss away 3 points next week if we go out with the same eleven.

Owen still has my backing but he needs to start showing a bit of balls now and realise that this slide needs to be addressed.

I look forward to seeing Boyata alongside Cahill and Kakuta on the wing instead of Eagles who only has a cool name going for him. Finally, Tuncay & Ngog upfront with Klasnic as the impact sub seems like a good way to go. Far from a knee-jerk reaction, this has been coming for some time. As I mentioned elsewhere, we need a new left-back as well, Alonso fancies himself as a left-sided midfielder and hasn't shown the discipline to stay put and do what is required. No point in bringing players in and not using them - we don't have time to bed in anybody, they all have been in the Prem before.

As much as i hate saying it Davies was gash today. We  have to give ngog a chance up front with tuncay playing just off him. When holden is back get him in for Mavies. At least that way we could play 4-5-1 and push Tuncay up front when we are attacking.

It seems harsh to drop Klasnic who seems the only player who likes like scoring, but i dont feel he would be suited to playing a loan front man role.

Coyle has some big decisions to make IMO

Davies was never going to get anything out of United today, refereeing decisions or not, he is simply in affective against the quality defenders.

It would have been drastic to just drop davies today but it would have been the correct call and if OC is going to become a very good manager he has to make really big calls when it matters.

Davies still has a role to play at BWFC but it has to be a bench role if Owen wants to avoid alienating everybody against Super Kev and tarnishing what a great servant he has been to Bolton Wanderers.

He does need to just get the underperformers off that pitch.

i preferred the shape with Prats on the pitch and how Tuncay and Ngog aren't starting i don't know.

I have to agree with you Big. Knight, Jussi, Davies and Eagles don't look good enough for a starting place. We have better players today on the bench in Wheater, Bogdan, Ngog/Tuncay and Kakuta. Get them in.

When is Ricketts back on the scene?

We should be able to pick a decent eleven when all are fit but it is so hard to choose the right ones...

Jussi, Bogdan

Steinsson, Boyata, Ricketts

Cahill, Knight, Wheater, Boyata, Ricketts

Alonso, Robinson, Ricketts, Boyata

Eagles, Kakuta, Lee,

Holden, Mavies, Muamba, NRC, Pratley,

Petrov, Alonso, Kakuta

Tuncay, Ngog, Davies, Klasnic

...and the youngsters too!

How do you decide who should go where and what combination?

I still think we should have a 3 man central midfield. Today Mavies was non existent. He needs to be partnered by Muamba and NRC in the centre to have an impact in this kind of game. And out wide we need players who will cover for the full backs.

I think Petrov is working hard but we are getting torn apart down the left every week.Decisions, decisions.

One thing that is for sure is that the current backbone of the team is not working - time for an overhaul!

You could have played all of them and still lost to United.

There's quantity there, but little quality.

That is just fcuking laughable. The reason we are so shite is because our midfield is so weak.

Mark Davies can fcuk off. He is utter crap. He is another Coyle favourite who has done nothing at Bolton except get injured. Petrov doesn't track back, which wouldn't be so bad if we had Gardner at left back who has pace, but picking Petrov is leaving Robinson exposed. THIS IS SIMPLE TACTICS but Coyle doesn't seem to see it.

Read the post you blinkered fool. I suggested Gardner at left back to stop quick wingers taking the piss. He's no better at defending than Robinson but twice as quick.

Understand?

I don't agree with dropping Jussi just yet but I would go with that formation once those that are named are fully fit.

I don't think we will go down or anything but I don't want to settle for just staying up we want to be trying to finish as high as possible and I still think Kevin Davies has a place in the squad but he should be used more to protect a lead or when we need a more direct approach.

There are two players in there that have never started for Bolton. How do you know they are any good?

Tuncay is proven in this league and given Davies has had a pretty shocking start to the season we need to see what N'Gog can do besides he would add some very much needed pace.

yeah he doesn't have to pass in that position.

so the player gets by him a couple of times less a game but we lose possession 45 times more.

benefits? None.

Benefits of Gardner over Robinson apart from pace?

He'd chip in with the odd assist. How many times has Robinson gone down the wing and crossed for Davies to head in. ZERO times is the answer.

I'm not saying Gardner is brilliant, just better than what we have.

With all 5 goals coming from the right wing I'm with Tash on this one. In mitigation I would say that given we know Young and Nani like to cut inside, I'd have started with NRC and Muamba sitting in front of the back 4 - but Robbo is so bobbins and slow we'd have been better off with Gardiner or even Muamba playing LB. Alternatively OC could have given young Connolly a run out at LB as it's good experience for CBs to play at full back - however he played for Ireland midweek so it would have been a big ask.

You can have as much experience as you want, but if you're a carthorse it won't help.
