It has been reported in today's press that Taylor accepted £450,000 in an out of court settlement with News International in relation to the hacking of his phone. The hacking refers to the fact that he was believed to be having an extra-marital affair and was not related to football matters. I wonder if he donated any of the money to charity.

Why should he?

If he wasn't the Chairman of the PFA he wouldn't have got a bean. Surely he should have ploughed some of the money into football at grass roots level  as a sign of solidarity with his football chums?

The only player I've ever asked for an autograph!

His wife (a ginger) was a teacher at Haywood donkeys’ years back and he used to wait for her in his car at the end of school.

My cousin who is actually older than me wanted his signature but was always too shy to ask - so one day I got it for him.

Even when I was a youngster I never understood why some people have to be in awe of footballers?

Couldn't agree more. I'd be interested to know what he actually does other than appear on the news defending the latest scumbag footballer.

It's quite interesting how as the ' players representative ' he is always sticking up for their morally reprehensible behaviour. He is on a six figure salary so I guess it pays his bills. He is very good at going for the moral highground. Perhaps he had his fling up a mountain ?

I just think it's ridiculous that he earns more than most professional footballers.

I know that top-flight players are overpaid (the average in the premier league was around £18k a week, before City started paying silly amounts), but Taylor's on around £10k a week, which is far more than the majority of players who would ever need the PFA's help. There's not many players outside the premier League on that kind of money, barring, of course, players recently relegated on decent contracts and the odd "marquee" signing by the likes of Leicester etc.

That David Davis is another one on a good screw. He used to be a TV presenter on BBC in Manchester. He married a former Miss England, Susan Cuff. When he worked for the BBC he lived in Sale and used to get picked up every morning by a Chauffeur and driven to work in Manchester. How he went from TV presenter to a bigwig in football is beyond me.

Taylor is on £10k per week and Plymouth players haven't been paid since Christmas. Where's the justice?

Oh god I hate Gordon Taylor. He is the cretin who complains and moans about clubs sacking managers too quickly thinking that clubs should give loyalty to managers in preference to doing what they think is best for the club. Middlesbrough did that with Gareth Southgate and he took them down and have never been in the top flight since, whereas we sacked Sammy Lee and stayed up.
Footballers are so privileged earning amazing money for playing a game which they love playing and never have to do any hard work and Gordon Taylor thinks they are hard done by.
Absolute cretin.

The loathsome reptile has been at it again claiming that Tevez is entitled to compensation if City ditch him. The man is a total ponce who ould sell his principles to the highest bidder.
