The Premier League have released details of the 25-man - or less in most cases - squads from all 20 teams.

Each club must have a squad containing no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the home-grown player criteria, while the remainder - up to a maximum of 25 - must be home-grown.

A home-grown player is one who has been registered with any club affiliated to the English FA or the Football Association of Wales for a period of three full seasons or a total of 36 months prior to his 21st birthday, irrespective of nationality or age.

Players under the age of 21 are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players, which is why the likes of Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli are not listed, even though he is a part of the first team.

Everton's squad contains just 18 players - seven short of the maximum.

Note - Davis not listed, so like Lee we won't be seeing him play for quite a while yet.

Unbelievable. I doubt he will ever play for the club again. I don't think he'd get a game even if he was fit. I can't believe we signed him, he's one of those players like Owen Hargreaves and Keiron Dyer who are always injured.

Just wondering why, if we're a man short of the full 25, we haven't named either Lee or Davis in the squad just in case  one or the other makes a miraculous recovery (very miraculous in Davis case). Could we add to this squad if we were to pick up a player who is a free agent perhaps?

Yes we could pick up a free agent and we can register and de-register players again in January which is why Lee has not been included.

I think he's not on there because of this -
