In fact most americaisms are actually olde English - they just have not moved with the times..... Same goes with quite a few of the prenunciations they have with words - very olde English rather than modern English (I put it down to the puritans from the England who landed in New England via the Mayflower) In fact its the same difference between Canadian (Quebec) French and modern French language spoken elsewhere |
