After my first corner in nearly a year, I thought I would ask the question has prison become cool?

Don't get me wrong, I for one do not and I am sure many others do not but about 30 or 40 years ago it was very much frowned upon for a family member to be in prison and said family would never discuss this in public in order not to bring shame to the family and would probably bring up a cover story as to where they was.

Fast forward to 2011 and you will sometimes here people on your travels out and about discussing about themselves or people they know having spent time in prison as if it is not something to be greatly ashamed of or like the other day on the train home their was a lass with her mate who had clearly been visiting Keisha's baby daddy in prison who had a clear bag with HM Prison service printed all over it with some gifts I assume from said baby daddy.

So why did she not bring a plastic bag with her to carry this stuff in or bring a carrier bag, so it begs to the question is spending time in prison no longer a big deal?

You might not find it cool but would you consider it bad if a friend was sent to prison? Would you think less of them?

There is still a stigma attached to having been in prison within the middle and upper classes.

Unfortunately the lower classes wear it like a badge. These are the people that should be rounded up and shot.

I can see some of the appeal of prison right now compared to the 'outside world'.

No rent. Three squarish meals a day. A token bit of work and a bit of bumfun if you are that way inclined.

Drugs are easier to come by too, apparently.
