I went to Plodder Lane primary school which is in Farnworth and I wanted to go to Harper Green Secondary School but my parents wanted me to go to St James which is also in Farnworth but they put both schools down but because I did not choose Harper Green as my first choice they rejected me but when asked by my teacher if I was happy with this I said yes even though I wasnt but surely this was a lot to ask a 10 year old to decide for himself without asking his parents.

Judging by that super-long sentence you definitely went to the wrong school.

When my ex's dad died I wasn't there for her as much as I should have been; I was distracted by work and traveling and didn't realize how badly it affected her.

There were a lot of things that went wrong in our relationship eventually but things probably could have been different if I had done things another way at that point.

My biggest mistake was along the same lines as yours - missing someone very much who I wish I was still close to but didn't take chances and now its too late.
You really do have to take chances in life and take risks to get the big rewards but so many of us don't because it is the easier option.

Judging his intelligence, I would be surprised if he ever went to school.
