Sorry Dave, its just time is money for me.
I don't play football anymore, I used to love a game but would prefer a kick about rather than a competitive game.
Do you think football will one day be America's number one sport?

Understand
I am only on here at work

No chance will it ever be number one here
lots of reasons why
That being said it is getting much bigger now

I play in 2 adult leagues one (non competitive)
both are growing
The city league is getting adult who have never played before (getting a little dangerous to play there)

I use to play in goal for a local side but then had to give it up due to a dodgy knee, I know fence Sabre which is even worse for the knee, you've got to dig my logic.

I was brilliant as a teenager, and had the women's game been as big as it is now I have no doubt I'd have been an England player.

My Deepdale volley is legendary in these parts.

I played twice a week from uni until I was 32, at Leverhulme, T'reebok, and then down here at Mile End - the teams down here are soft as shíte, wouldm't stand a chance at Leverhulme...

Unfortunately about a year ago while slowly jogging backwards I caught my ankle in a gap in the carpet and truly screwed my ankle up... a couple of comebacks have failed, and unfortunately I think Its just one injury too far!

Injuries suck
I played back to back last Saturday afternoon second match against a team of 20 year old hispanic players
Sunday morning I could not walk
ankle and knee still swollen and I haven't been able to go running all week
next match not till late this Saturday its gonna look funny with a short white guy as a fullback because I can no longer play on the wing

I play two or three times a week.  Recreational soccer is big here in Seattle, we have three or four leagues and thousands of players.

Is it a bit disorganised with nobody knowing the rules and picking the ball up at every oppurtunity?

Used to play there myself when I worked in the Quays... roasting in the summer, helped by the effect of chewing on shity air from the sewage works... Lovely....  Pretty certain there have been a couple of fatalities associated with the heat when it gets proper hot.

What a boring thread. Am I the only one who scored a wonder goal at a young age?

Come on you tarts, let's have those magical moments that only your Mum witnessed.

I accidentally scored a brilliant lob once in a middle school trial i was about 20 yards out off to the left i was playing on the wing... tried to swing a cross in with my right an in swinger totally scuffed it and got underneath it and it went over the short dude in goal and i scored.

Didn't get picked obviously.

I think you meant to say you saw the 6ft5 goalkeeper off his line and chipped him from 20 yards to win the Area Cup.
