When I first gave it a whirl, I was quite impressed, albeit fairly disappointed, having expected something a lot more. But I knew instantly that it wasn't how I wanted to watch football matches in the future.

What you tend to find at my local, is that the airheaded gobshite sort of fans can't get enough of watching football in 3D, while the clued up, intellectual sort such as myself refuse to watch televised football in any other way than the traditional way.

What's everyone else's view on watching football in 3D?

Can't be doing with those 3D glasses. They give me a right headache.

I am yet to see it in 3D but my old man got a 3d Telly the back end of last season so I might give it a go this season to see what it is like.

It will never replace the feeling of being there so if that is what they are trying to achieve then it is a pointless exercise.

I saw a demo of it in South Africa.  Kind of cool as a novelty but the picture is relatively dim.

I like watching football in 3D: just go to the Reebok and see it.

I'm just about getting my wallet round a HDTV never mind 3D. I think I'll skip it and wait for Sky Sports Hologram.

If football in 3d is anything like a film at the cinema in 3d then I will pass thanks, their is hardly a bit of difference IMO at the cinema from 3d to normal...........oh except about another £5 and a pair of Roy Orbison specs

Unless it's a friendly, in which case you're a mug.

Do they do porn in 3D yet?

That'd be odd.

If odd means brilliant then yes it would be extremely odd.

I read on Bloomberg about 2 months ago that SES (Astra 2 - or sky satellite to most of you) has signed a deal with The Adult Channel (UK) to start up a 3D channel sometimes in the next 6 months!

Finally, as reason to consider getting Sky!

I like how it is a reason to consider getting Sky and not actually getting it, how is that whole Murdoch boycott going?

3D is just an excuse to get people looking like Roy Orbison, that's him watching Avatar.
