Jesus, sunday night, another week of work at the opticians lies ahead, I can't be arsed. Work is rubbish, whoever invented it needs a slap, its just such a bore. The thing about work is that it eats into your free time, I would want £10 an hour just to give up my free time before I even do any work. There needs to be a finer balance between time off and time at work, I don't like having to work for 5 days and then only get 2 days off. Life shouldn't be about work.
Do you like work or are you somewhat bored it?

Hated it when I worked in UK, now in NL, love it to a point.  But definitely not looking forward to the next 3 weeks where I am doing 3 people's work - thanks to vacations!  But on the plus side the overtime will be good :-)

That is impressive stuff taking a pay cut to do something you were happier doing. Unfortunately I am on minimum wage and Dolland and Aitchison.

In a way, yes.

But what myself and your good self do, is also classed as work, I suppose, as we draw an income from it.

So, if that's work: I love it! Grin

My jobs ace.

I do about 8 hours a week, although sometimes I have to visit some proper shitholes.

Burnley tomorrow.

After a good many years working at a hotel doing food service, bar service etc at weekends and working til stupid o'clock every time, I am now finally in a standard Mon-Fri 9-5 processing job. It will probably get boring after a while but for now I'm loving it just having a regular wage coming in and not having to rely on student loans or work my entire social life to get a bit of money.

While it is a bit of an unbalance only having two days a week free, there's nothing more boring than sitting round the house during the week watching Sky Sports News, GoCompare adverts and Cash in the Attic. I actually would rather work.

Are you joking?
I would love to spend my mornings with Lucy & Martin at the auctions or alternatively, a trip to some lovely countryside houses with Jules!

I have to say I do like work... I get mind numbingly bored if I'm off with nothing to do. I really don't understand how people can aim to live off social doing nowt but watching Richard and Judy... I'd even go as far to say even if I won a maxed out Euromillions I'd continue working. There is no doubt I'd quit my current job, no chance I'd want to do anything were you end up doing the hours I sometimes do, or the stress that it can bring. However, I'd do something, probably taking a leaf out of Ronnie Barkers book and entering retirement to a little antique shop without a care of it making money.

I'd probably still work actually. Not straight away, I'd have a few years travelling to see the world and stuff. But eventually I'd run out of things to do and end up doing something on a regular basis. I work to live but lets face it there's bugger all to do between 9-5 Mon-Fri because the majority of people you'd spend the time with... are in work! And while I love going for all-day drinking sessions I couldn't be one of these saddos who just sits in a local all day every day, regardless of whos in or if they are even with anyone.

If you had millions and millions of pounds how could you ever get bored? The things you could do are endless.

I'd hope that was true but something tells me there must come a time when you just think "I've pretty much done it all". Who knows, there might not be. I'd love to have the chance to find out.

I don't mind work, but I've been doing the same thing since I left university surrounded by the same people. Time for a change.

As soon as my Dad officially retires I'm going to sell the business and start up my own gym.

According to some, my work involves crocodiles and kids, in an ideal world that would be the perfect match.
