Taking on other folks kids

I am going to change my original statement a little and say that if you already have kids of your own then it is a little different as both yourself and the person you would be seeing are in the same boat.

If, as a supposedly educated grown up, you can't already see why somebody would be willing to take on somebody else's children to help raise them in a loving/caring environment with 2 parents present, then I'm unlikely to change your mind.

Natasha's right. There's a myriad of things you could've experienced prior to having kids which would more than likely have made you a more rounded person, mentally, and so more tolerant. Not forgetting the knowledge you could then impart on your children.  
Having children shouldn't be just something that happens, it should be planned and thought about.
