Really like Linkin Park's new song aswell. It's called New Divide and it's from the new Transformers film.

I only know the one that's on Fifa 09, not sure what it's called but that is catchy, very good.

V Festival next weekend. Oasis, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Razorlight and many more.

A bit of something for everyone - anyone going or watching it on 4Music?

Yeah it looks like a decent line-up, like a rock'n'roll version of Glastonbury.

Unfortunately I aint going there or to Hull I think so I'll be watching 4Music & MOTD on saturday night.

Been watching alot of it and its been pretty good. Oasis dropped out tonight cos Liam was ill but Snow Patrol headlined instead and did Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova which were both great i thought!

Keane also did a pretty good cover of Cast No Shadow so the crowd got a decent helping of Oasis anyway!

Recently got into listening to Twisted Wheel practically non-stop after my cousin talked me into going to Jonny Brown's gig at Bliss in Leigh. All the stuff they've done has been quality so would recommend them to anyone, even Tasha with her love of 90s rap of whatever it was Wink

Here's one of songs for those who dont know who they are:

Just got the new Cribs album and at first listen, its another quality album. Not sure how it stacks up against 'Men's Needs....' yet but its definatly worth the £8 it is on Itunes.

Oh and it looks like a reunion of the Libertines could be on again with Pete Doherty promising to headline a few festivals next year so thats definatly something to look forward to.

Currently I'm listening to a lot of Stranglers "Walking on the beaches looking at the Peaches"
The Leeds line up wasn't bad you had the likes of Funeral for a Friend, In Case of Fire, Rise Against, The Blackout, Billy Talent, and the awesome Faith No More

Welcome to the board 267, care to introduce yourself properly over in our new members section?

Im not too familar with many of the bands you listed but ill check em out in Spotify, see what they're like.

The Leeds lineup was indeed pretty good and, although ive only seen highlights of it, looked like it was great weekend, might consider going myself next year as anyone i know who went said it was amazing.

It's good to be here, thanks for the warm reception. From what I saw Faith No More played an awesome gig they were a bit rusty at Download but they were in full swing on the clips I saw of them at Reading, they even finished they're set playing the theme to Eastenders and I don't know why. Funeral for a Friend were at they're usual best I caught them at a gig in December with Cancer Bats, Attack! Attack! and Saidmike supporting.  Wink

Got tickets to see the Arctic Monkeys at the M.E.N in November, should be a good laugh.

Anyone else going to watch them on their mini UK tour?

Just listened to their new album. Very disappointed! Not very upbeat when compared to all their other stuff, most of which is top drawer!

I was a little disappointed with their new album too, after their first 2 i guess expectations were raised to an unreasonable level though.

Wont be going seeing them but have got tickets for the Courteeners at Manchester Central in December so cant wait for that, support from the Buzzcocks and the Whip an all Smiley

I cant decide! Some of the stuff is really good where as some is average but will probably grow on me - probably only a solid album compared to some really magnificent stuff in the past.

However for a band to make three albums in quick successive all with different themes and sounds is very impressive and also to have really profound lyrics and music written by a man who is still only young. As a musician and songwriter myself, I can only admire them.

I worship Oasis however one criticism may be is that they were only one-dimensional unlike the Arctics, they remind me more of the Beatles, slightly less successful though.

The Artics are still class, they've been changing styles from the punchy indie songs most evident on Whatever People Say I Am to their current more alternative, riff orientated sound which suits me down to the ground because that's the type of music I like. You have to admire them for willing to progress and ensure that every album is different. Unfortunately I haven't heard they're new album (I decided to by Slaves To Gravity's Scatter The Crow instead) but the lyrics in Crying Lighting are some of the best I've heard in a long time. I do understand if that song was a culture shock though, when I first saw it I caught the video half way through and presumed that The Ramones were back from the dead sailing through the Atlantic.
