West Bromwich Albion have made a move to land Nigel Reo-Coker and are hopeful of sealing a deal, skysports.com can confirm.

The Baggies are understood to be making a big push for the 26-year-old midfielder, who is available on a free transfer after deciding to leave Aston Villa.

A host of clubs have been keeping tabs on him, with options both at home and abroad.

Paris St Germain are the latest European heavyweight to take a keen interest in Reo-Coker, whilst the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Valencia have all been looking at him.

In England, West Brom are now looking to head off interest from up to half-a-dozen Premier League rivals.

Baggies boss Roy Hodgson is looking for West Brom to push on next season and the signing of a player of Reo-Coker's calibre would be a clear sign of their intent.

I said it before, I think he'd be a good buy.He won't exactly be pulling up many trees, going forward but he's steady and abit of a leader.

No because we have signed Pratley and do not need a thousand and one centre mids although I do think Reo-Coker is a safer option due to him being proven in this league but I would imagine his wage demands are alot more than Pratleys.

Yes from me.

He's a better RB than Steinsson.

Scott Green looked better in the masters than Steinsson did last season.

Scott Green looks better than very few people. He's one ugly fĂșcker.

I'm just waiting for Steinsson to show the kind of form, when he first joined us.

Yeah with Holden, Mark Davies, Muamba, Sean Davis (maybe) and now Pratley we're OK on central midfielders, unless we're going to go for someone with real quality (hint: that isn't Reo-Coker).

We are still shy a CM for me, Holdens return could easily get delayed, and there are no guarantees over Savis... If Muambas form is as patchy as last season then for me Reo-Coker is a decent signing.
