Anyone else watching this?

A lot of reasonably priced players have come out of South America in the last few years, should we be looking at this area for a couple of bargain buys?

Up to now the big 2 Argentina and Brazil have been crap, the Argies ( Messi Tevez etc) needed a late goal to draw with Bolivia, and Brazil tonight were awful drawing 0-0 with Venezuela.

Also in this the referees carry a can of foam, and at free kicks they draw a foam line on the grass at the 10 yard mark so the defenders can't steal yards.  Would this work over here?

It'd work if our refs weren't overawed by primadonnas.

Back to the refs, the one in the Uruguay game last night was, for free kicks anywhere near the box,  drawing a foam line at the point of the free kick to stop the attacking team stealing yards and another 10 yards away to stop defenders encroaching. Brilliantly simple, no scope for cheating as the whole crowd can see the lines.

They've been doing the foam line thing in MLS this season.  Funny to watch players who are still trying to encroach.
