I watched the second half of the England v Mexico game this evening and I couldn't get over the standard of football, it was absolutely shocking. Players seemed incapable of passing the ball just 10 yards under no pressure to each other. The strikers kept fluffing their shots, spooning them miles wide. It really was like watching a bunch of beginners playing in the park. Did anyone else watch this game in disbelief at how bad they were?

Stop being sexist. Women aren't as good as men at anything so what did you expect?

I really hoped this would be a serious topic about the standard of women's football.

Ok wait for Brazil you will see a little better level of play THe reason is coaching Brazil and USA are about the only country where anybody gives a rats red wrinkle about woman's football therefore no training no coaching most countries dont even have a w league its been around for a few years here in the USA players make decent money but a fraction of what men do and on a big game it may draw 4000 fans

ok, my honest answer is that no obviously the standard is fairly poor but thats all to do with the amount of money being put in the game (none) the appeal to young girls (none) the standard of the coaching (poor) the wages (crap) If sky got behind womens football you might see the standard improve a bit but i honestly don't think there will ever be a quality womens league.

It's because Women aren't treated as rightfully in footballing terms as men, and yet, there are girls who are better footballers than men.
Sad but true.

None of the womens England team could play at any level in the football league over here. They're not good enough. By a long way.

There are some brilliant players but there's only a handful because of the reasons i mentioned above.
