The former Porto boss has signed a three-year deal and is in London on Wednesday preparing to begin work.

Villas-Boas, 33, is the same age as players Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba and won the Portuguese league, League Cup and Europa League last season.

I thought Martinez and OC were young managers but this takes the biscuit.

He won four trophies at Porto but the Premier League is a totally different kettle of fish. I knew very little about him until the announcement. Will the old Pro's take kindly to being told what to do by a young whipper snapper ?

I'll give him a season.

How long will it take before the regulars like Anelka and Drogba go crying to Roman about him when he drops them for a ffew games.

In my opinion he is too young to manage players that age at this level, but if takes united to the cleaners next season he can stay.

Oh by the way he is best buds with coyle by all accounts as they both undertook their uefa badges with each other.

It's like you talk a foreign language. I never know what you're on about. You've been out for a while? Where?

I haven't done anything with Diddles. What do you mean?

Diddles arranged a massive fight with a couple of members on here that went badly wrong because a local gang caught word of it and fcuked him up.

so yeah... don't reckon we'll see much of him for a bit.

He's clearly not wired up like most of the rest of us are.

I think 'character' posters make forums but Didle's child’s mind in an adult body persona doesn't do it for me.

I tried to protect him a bit for his own good on here but he clearly WANTS people's attention, so I gave up in the end and let him 'reap what he sowed' sort of thing.

I can't imagine any normal person doing the stuff he does as an alto ego - so I think now he probably IS how he portrays himself to be.

Well it's his life and he can do what the hell he wants with it but somewhere down the line I can't help but think he will have to do a great deal of growing up in a short period of time and the longer he leaves it the harder it will be for him.

He must want to be known as a weirdo all over Bolton.

He's going to end up a fat middle aged waster living in an Amsterdam crack den in a few years.

Poor appointment by Chelsea. There's only City can finish above United next season now and I can even see Liverpool ahead of Chelsea.Well maybe Liverpool's stretching it a bit.

If true, it could seriously work in our favour with any potential loan deals from Chelsea. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

He might have met Coyle and thought what a twat for all we know. I didn't know people automatically became best friends at Uefa badge camp.

I know it's total speculation by the club trying to make coyle seem "cool" cos he once sat in a classroom with this guy.

We're going to America soon i can't wait for the "Coyle and Obama once shared the same air in the USA"
