Just been on SSN that a Great Britain football team will play in the 2012 Olympics. 18 players from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will make up the team. 15 under 23's and 3 players of any age is what they think it's going to be.

Apparently Scotland and Wales have just come out and said they've not agreed anything and are against it.

Doesn't matter if Stuart Pearce is going to be managing them anyway!

Is that a sick joke or are you being serious?

It's a few months old but... -

The FA have already decided Stuart Pearce will be manager of Great Britain’s Olympic football team, even though the make-up of the London 2012 side is far from clear.

England Under 21 boss Pearce, whose contract expires in June, will be offered a new two-year deal that takes in the London Olympic position, which Roy Hodgson had been favourite to fill before his torrid time at Liverpool.

Brooking backs Stuart Pearce as Olympics coach

Sir Trevor Brooking thinks England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce should be appointed as the head coach of the British football team at next year's London Olympics.

The refusal of the associations of Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland to commit to the British team means that the squad is likely to comprise solely of English players, although Tottenham's Welsh winger Gareth Bale for one has indicated his desire to be involved.

With Olympic rules stating that only three over-23 players are allowed in each squad, Pearce has the advantage of having nurtured the development of most of the probable team and Brooking thinks that should mean he gets the role.

"I would like to support Stuart for the Olympics job because he knows all the players well," Brooking told Press Association Sport.

"Having been there over the last four years he would be ideally placed to get the best out of that group.

"He is respected by all the lads in the squad.

"They seemed very relaxed around him at the training camp last week.

"It's something I think we'll look at when he gets back from this tournament."

Brooking's role as the Football Association's director of football development has enabled him to watch Pearce's progression closely since he took the post in 2007.

He has been impressed with the way the former England left-back has developed the Under-21 team and thinks they will go far in Denmark.

"He has had two good tournaments and came close to winning both," Brooking said.

"This tournament will be good for him to have under his belt and he will want to go far and he has a really strong squad."

After the Under 21's performances he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the Olympic team.

The omission of Welsh, Irish & Scots player will make hardly any difference to the squad.

In fact, it will strengthen it, as there'll be no moral obligation to have a quota system.

We should all be competing in the Olympics as separate countries. The Jocks and Welsh now have their own parliament, plus they all hate the English. I don't see why we should have to be teammates with them as Great Britain any more. This happens in the Commonwealth games, no reason why the same shouldn't apply in the Olympics

Football at the Olympics just doesn't seem right, to be fair in past events no country apart from Nigeria and Argentina seem to give a cr*p .
