I was going to cancel my Sky tv subscription today as my bill had once again gone up. So I phoned up and when asked what my call was about all I said was my monthly payments have increased. Straight away the woman said one minute and put me on hold. She came back 30 seconds later and said they would half my payments for the rest of the year. So I never did cancel. My advice to anyone with Sky who wants to save a couple hundred quid is phone them up and moan about the price.

Well I could've saved more if I'd actually cancelled but it was too good an offer to turn down.

That's one of the reasons I was going to cancel. I get my phone line and internet free from Sky so if I cancelled I'd have to pay for that though. What I'm now paying Sky for phone, internet and tv is less that what BT would do just my phone and internet for.

And less of the name calling, plastic cup.

Dave, I thought everyone phoned up every so often threatening to go.
I do it once a year and am now paying 40 quid a month for a full package, phone & broadband.

I did it last year and ended up getting my phone and internet for free for 12 months. That had just run out so I phoned up again and am now paying £22 for everything.
