What a surprise.

Suspended Fifa vice-president Jack Warner has made public an e-mail that claims Mohamed Bin Hammam "bought" the 2022 World Cup finals for Qatar.

Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke admitted he sent the e-mail, which also questioned why Asian football boss Bin Hammam was running for Fifa president.

Valcke wrote: "[Hammam] thought you can buy Fifa as they bought the World Cup."

The Qatar 2022 World Cup bid team has issued a statement "categorically denying any wrong-doing" over the bid.

"We are urgently seeking clarification from Fifa about the statement from their General Secretary," continued the Qatar officials' statement.

"In the meantime we are taking legal advice to consider our options."

Haha, FIFA is falling apart.  You know that if Warner is going down he's taking everyone else with him.

It's about time this happened. Everybody has known for years that dodgy deals went on there.

I heard something after Qatar got the World Cup that the FA may decide to pull away from Uefa, is that possible and what would that mean for english football if that happend.

As for all this stuff that's come out I am not surprised, as has been said everyone has known that UEFA has been bent for years.

It is an option - but only if we want to commit international football suicide (and probably have massive court cases and / or the big clubs break away and form some sort of European club league or something).

If we pull out of UEFA we could not play any other club from abroad - so that is the end of England playing anybody (which might be a good thing) and also the end of European competitions such as the Champions League for our club sides.

The big clubs depend on European / international exposure for marketing purposes, and the money generated from TV revenues and prize money from the Champions League - so they would either financially go under - or more likely take the FA to court, or breakaway and form a European super league independent to UEFA / FIFA providing the big clubs from Spain, Italy, Germany, etc, join up to.

Even then I would think individual players would be banned from playing from their national teams for playing in a brake away league not sanctioned by FIFA.

We therefore have to change FIFA from within or get most of the big nations walk out on FIFA with us - going it alone won't work.

If every country agreed and all pulled out maybe a new football federation could be set up. Just England pulling out would be suicidal as Sluffy said.

The story is that conferations were handed 'wads of cash' ranging from US$40,000.00 upwards.

The fact that they gave it to a country that couldn't host a five a side tournament speaks volumes.

And it's largely a dry country, it'd be like a load of nuns opening a brothel.

We should make a stand on this and boycott the next 3 World Cups like Scotland will.
