Hello. I'm James/Jimbo, whatever.
I've been planning on joining The Wanderer when the season ends for a bit when I left my former hunting grounds; 606 (closing down) and Burnden Aces (gone shíte).

For what it is worth I agree with you both.
It is a decent forum and very popular with many but I find it to be without much humour and with several 'mega' posters, who seemingly are very opinionated - to the point of rudeness (imo) of others.
Yes I know there is far more abuse thrown about on here but the vast majority of it is not meant, unlike on there.
There is also a 'hidden' forum where quite a substantial 'clique' ridicule their own posters behind their backs, whilst being 'chummy' with them on the public forum. Or at least it used to be like that, I some how can't imagine that it as changed some how.
I never liked the double standards they had - hence why I found my way on here.
I some how think Jimbo will be much better suited to them than us.

I've got a log-in from a mod on there for the secret forum, and it's pretty embarrassing stuff. It's amusing though, as I have met the same people in the flesh and they have been nice as pie to me to my face yet write their guff on the secret forum imagining that I would never read it  If you are reading - Mr Zulu = you're a c-unt! |

I don't think you need to take it so personally. I think a few people have pointed out (Including you I recall, Sluffy) that the number/quality of posts have dropped on the forum. I think you listed why you thought that was (maybe as part of a general trend on BWFC forums) and it's not like "gone shite" is the worst thing anyone has every said about a forum.
Just 'broad' language. I don't think I've ever been on The Wanderer, but fair play if Jimbo prefers it there. Each to their own and all that. They're just forums.

I don't think it's particularly "disrespectful". Like I said, it's a forum. It seems like the sort of thing someone says down the pub, rather than an attack on the forum. If he'd said "the forum is no longer ad good as it was" then nobody would have batted an eyelid, but he said "(gone shite)" because it's how he talks. Fair enough if you're upset. But I wouldn't take it personally. |

It always makes me laugh when people delete their account as Jimbo has done. Fair enough if you want to have a look at another site but why burn bridges?
He'll be another faceless pleb on TW, the only way you survive on a bigger stage is if you're loud or have a differing opinion than the majority.
Anyway, I'll be tuning into his Twitter postings.....

I have been away for the weekend and I have to say I am a bit disappointed in Jimbo. I have had a look at the link that Sluffy posted and I have no problem with Jimbo joining another site, but why close down his account on here ?
I do occasionally view the other boards and I have found that they are all much of a muchness.
I remember Jimbo from the official site and I always found him to have a good knowledge of football and a good sense of humour. It's a free world and all that but why not depart graciously and leave it at that ?

I don't understand the football forum culture as it pertains to BWFC. Is there a rule that one can't be a member of two forums? I see Big Sharps is over at WW and now Jimbo is off to TW, hardly the first two to migrate. I used to post at Bolton Banter but as it was getting about 1 post a day I decided to post here. Granted, I am a very casual poster and don't put much stock in it, but it seems very serious business for some (deleting accounts, etc.)
I wonder if, hypothetically speaking, one were to post on a gaming, tv/film, politics, religious or some other type of forum whether there would be the same 'allegiances' to individual forums as we see here. Either way, its odd and intriguing to say the least.
