Darron Gibson's short-lived twitter career

Recently loads of United players seem to be following on from Rio Ferdinand and joining twitter. Even Wayne Rooney signed up yesterday!! I bet he takes some stick.
But Darron Gibson is made of a lesser stuff, and lasted around 1 1/2 hours, before finding the abuse (most of it coming from United 'fans') too much, and closed his account.
See here, a slideshow with some of the comments.

Just a bit sad really. He's a guy who has feelings. Bet none of the people posting that crap have the guts to say it to his face.
That said, I doubt he had much interesting to contribute to Twitter.

From the BBC:
From Man United's Rio Ferdinand on Twitter: "Darron Gibson says he came on [to Twitter] to see what the lads were up to... he came off because he couldn't be bothered with it not any other reason."
