Gutted for Blackpool.  Birmingham dropping is funny though.

I have to admit, Chris, your hatred for Blackburn surprises me. I have nothing against them personally, at all. Likewise, I've not got anything against Wigan - but their supporters tend to irritate me a lot more than Blackburn's.

I've always hated Blackburn. I maintain I hate United more and always will, but living in the northern part of Bolton not too far from Blackburn territory I grew up with a few of them in my year at school, and they are so cocky and bullish it's untrue. Any argument you have with them invariably ends with "well we won the league" and until we ever match that anything we say if inferior in their eyes. They seem to look down on us and it annoys me because by and large since we both came back up we've been about the same.

We've both had top half finishes, both had relegation struggles and both come within a bad couple of results of relegation. We both struggle to fill our ground or away allocation and most meetings we have are closely fought. But in their opinion any point we ever get off them is a bit of luck, and that's the end of it.

Add to that the horrendous 4-1 loss at home to them in the First Division back in 2001, the first time I saw us play them at home. It's a memory I'll never ever lose, and never forget until we make their fans go through a similar game at their place.

I take it you went to Turton, Chris.

I've often wondered what its like there football-wise, as obviously half of Turton is in Bolton and the other half is Blackburn.

Correct. The school itself is Bolton but as I say it isn't far from Darwen and Edgworth is considered half and half. Some things they get will be Bolton Borough Council, others Blackburn & Darwen. There weren't that many in our year really (Blackburn fans) but enough to make themselves heard, and the ones that were there actually lived in Bolton (one in Edgworth) but they'd all lived up there previously I think. Then I went to Blackburn College which only fuelled my dislike for them and their town.

I live up that way, Chris (or did when I was in Bolton).....Blackburn are the enemy for most people at our end.
