Signed for Arsenal today. Surely a transfer deadline is just that, A DEADLINE!

He wasn't signed by Monday at 5pm, so why has the transfer been allowed to go through?!

I guarantee if we wanted to sign a player after the deadline, we'd have to wait until the summer.

Good player. Passes, organizes and finishes plays always in speed dominating the ball in its progression.  Fast and with lots of creativity when dribbling with great vision of the game. With these characteristics, his place is at the center of the midfield, but often comes to the flanks. I've seen some games of Zenith cause there is Portuguese attacking midfielder called Danny that they signed from FC Moscow for 30M€ last summer.

It was stated that all clubs (not just Arsenal) had an extension if the weather affected their transfer dealings.

I live close to London and I know many people could not get in to work yesterday because all the buses and underground were not working.  This effected people who worked at the FA HQ - and so stuff like international clearance (which I'm guessing was the issue with Arshavin) could not be processed in time.

I see that Stoke have a late transfer going through which no one is making a song and dance over -

I think people are only making a fuss about it because it’s one of the big four involved.

He seems to be a cracking player - I hope he doesn't disappoint like Shevchenko and Rebrov did

I'm making a fuss because he was pictured at the Emirates on Sunday. He had a medical on Monday and agreed personal terms, the only thing left was for Arsenal and Zenit to stop fannying around over the fee and compensation.

If the fee wasn't agreed by the deadline, it shouldn't have gone ahead. It baffles me why they wait until the last minute when they've had nearly 5 weeks.

Apparently everything was done before the 5pm deadline, all the fees, compensation, contracts etc but there was a paper work pile up at the FA.
I dont know whether this was because of the weather or not but that is what I heard.
