Similar to Diouf. Wanted to leave for a bigger club and continues to find himself out of favour.

Ben Haim joined Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.

I can could name many! Diouf, Ben Haim, Anelka, Faye, Ricketts. Although some wanted to move on to bigger and better things the element of greed always seem to slip in. We mad the careers of Ben Haim, Faye & Ricketts and resurected the careers of Anelka and Diouf.
Useful tip to the current squad - Stay and you will play!

What a waste! Never utilised at Chelski and thought City may have settled him and got him back to his best!

one of the best at bringing the ball out of defence....

Sunderland have got a gem if they play him week-in-week-out!

Hit the peak of his career early IMO, in his last season with us. Looks overweight and uninterested. Seems happy enough to be sat on the bench picking up good money.

Good player no doubt! But not GREAT players as Ricardo Carvalho or John Terry, not easy to win a spot in the Chelsea center back with these 2 GREAT players. Ricardo Carvalho is better than Terry in my opinion, he's the best center back since chelsea had Marcel Desailly.

Yes ok - not world-class player like Carvalho (I agree he is better than Terry - I think Ferdinand and Woodgate are too) - but a very, very good Premiership player and better than most (including who we have at Bolton presently).

Ben Haim only signed for Chelsea cause of the other idiot (Avram Grant) was already signed and sealed to be Manager of Chelsea. I remember that before signing Ben Haim, Mourinho wanted to buy Micah Richards, but Peter Kenyon said NO NO!! Richard would have been a much better signing cause of his ability to play several positions, like central defender, central midfield and right back, positions that Essien had to play several times cause of player injuries.

He played in every position along the back four for Bolton - so it must have been Grant's preference to play Essien at right back instead of TBH.

Mourinho wanted him two January's ago but would not meet our valuation (it was at the time when Mourinho and Abramovich were having a row) so he left on a free the following summer.

I agree Richards was playing outstandingly well at the time - but he has gone backwards this season and is having a very poor 2008/9 so far.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree over TBH as I think he is a really good player.

Anyway good luck to him at Sunderland.

Thought we really missed him and Faye when they both left and it took a long time for us to get the centre half position sorted. It's still not the most reliable now!

He probably thought he'd made it when Chelsea came in for him and maybe he's still too cocky for his own good, preventing him from playing his best football because on his day, he's a brilliant defender.

I think that he is not up to the standard of Cahill & Puygrenier (from what I have seen). And even though defensively he is better than Steinsson I would rather have Gretar playing at RB for his attacking threat.
