I would like to, I have a passing interest in them. Football Manager has a lot to do with it but I always want to see local sides get near or in the Football League. As you can imagine I was pleased to see teams like Morecambe and Accrington Stanley muscle in on the league scene, and equally I'm hoping Stockport can save themselves this season.

In terms of following I can't say I've ever paid to watch a team that isn't BWFC. It isn't a problem to me for those that do, but I remember us playing Stockport not so long ago and them bastards beating us 4-3 after we pulled back from 3-0 down to 3-3... I remember Bury beating us in my first-ever away game in 1999, and I don't remember but have heard all about Oldham spoiling our chance of meeting United in an FA Cup Semi Final.

I know the likes of Daisy Hill, Droylsden and Atherton Collieries are never likely to reach that height, but I just find it hard to pay to watch any other team(s) play. It feels like sacrilage. And I'm pretty sure I've spelt that wrong.

I watch Bolton's midget side play on a sunday, they have been doing really well but will probably come up a little short in getting promotion.

I watch a lot of non league, I have already been to 85 games this season. I am slightly biased as my son plays non league, but I also go to see all the local teams when possible. As far as cost goes, Leigh and Chorley in the NPL charge £7 ( at Chorley its half price if you produce a Wanderers season ticket), the clubs in the North West Counties league Atherton LR Atherton Colls and Daisy Hill charge a fiver.

The leagues below that don't charge ie West Lancs League ( Tempest, Eagley Stoneclough etc) Manchester League and Lancs amateur league. Wherever you live in Bolton you will have a non league club close by. All the leagues have websites  or check Tuesdays BN for your nearest club Almost all have their own social club and you will be made welcome.

Before you slag it off all I would say is give it a try you might find you enjoy it,, as already mentioned the players are honest, no prima donnas and you will be pleasantly surprised by the standard, especially the NPL and NWCFL.

I often watch Chorley when Bolton aren't playing.

When I was a kid we didn't go to all Bolton away matches so I went to Victory Park just to see some football. Back then they were getting by on attendances of 200, last week they had 3200 for the visit of Chester....Chorley has the potential to be a big lower league club if they could ever get in the football league.

I take a close interest in Fleetwood, not exactly local but I have family up there who live about a minutes walk from the ground.

Can't say I go watching them alot living in bolton but I check for the results every week.

Is that no more to do with the away following?

I'm going to Chorley for the rest of the season following their games for our uni sports paper.

Is that no more to do with the away following?

No a mixture of great promotion by Chorley 'biggest game in 15 years', with it being 1st vs 2nd, Chester brought a very good 1200 fans but a lot was to do with more to do with Bolton/Blackburn/United/Wigan and Preston 'fans'/chavs turning up for a neutral place to have a scrap.

Chorley town centre turned into a poor man's football factory for a couple of hours. Helicopters whirring overhead, loads of police all over, hitting people with batons, scraps going on in sidestreets.

Agree with Natasha that Chorley do have some potential should they make it up a few leagues- could probably get 2,000-4,000 a week in quite regularly which is better than the likes of Stanley and Morecambe manage in League Two.
