If having Kaka turning them down and Bellamy signing isn't funny enough, Robinho has sulked out of their Spanish training camp.  Grin

The Kaka outcome really has to be 1-0 to football, saying money can't buy you everything! Mind you it is still the lesser of two evils because he is making a mint at Milan and will end up over in England soon enough but for the moment, up the football!!!!

Always mystifies me about footballers and more money.

I don't know how much star footballers are on but it most be a small fortune they get paid every week.  Say it is £100,000 per week - if so they earn over £5 million per year.  Add on to this that they get sponsorship deals, image rights, product endorsements, etc, etc.

Also the clubs pampers them - free health care, their accountants probably have their accounts set up in such away that they pay minimum tax, restaurants probably don't charge them, etc, etc, etc.

So I don't think it far fetched to imagine that they probably can clear £10 million a year.

Five top years earnings - say from 24 to 29 earns them (in their pocket) £50 million!!!

Now that is enough money not only for their lives but also the lives of their children and probably children’s children as well!!!

So why do footballers kick up a fuss over say wanting an extra £10,000 per week?  It's not like they even could spend it if they got it - they already have all they need with millions sitting in the bank!

At that level of earnings I would only want two things - to be happy at the club I was playing for and to win things.

So if players are happy then why chase more money?

Maybe Kaka as similar views?

When you hear anything from Kaka in the press, he seems like a decent guy. I'd love to see him play in England but I have more respect for him for turning down such a move.

I understand what you say about the money, I'd have a good go at spending it but it'd be impossible.

The biggest part of the money issue is when players aren't giving 100%, when they earn that much to do something they love and then they play abysmal it really irritates me!
