Spotify is decent if you just want to listen to music for free and legally on you're computer.

If you want them on like an mp3 player or ipod then...

...but don't go for anything without a music icon next to it...because it's likely a virus!

Beat me to the punch Jimbo. Smiley

Good site that Sharps for, as Jimbo said; just listening to music.

Of course, a download won't be worth anything in 20 years.

I've just sold my cassette tapes for thousands.

I recently had to pay £130 to purchase Willie D's "Controversy" and it's not the first time I've had to pay a three figure sum to get a CD.

It's not the same. I want to hear the music as the artist intended. Also, you can't put downloads on a shelf in alphabetical order.

You don't get it do you? Downloads will have been fiddled with to improve sound quality.

Each to their own, but I'll always prefer to own a CD over a download. There are few better feelings than tracking down that 20 year old CD in mint condition.

Plus like the warnings tell you, piracy funds terrorism, it is widely known that Osama Bin Laden started Al Qaeda due to his stint on Lever Street Carboot about 20 years ago.

See them live then.  Do you know how many people the music goes through before release?  First the recording engineer, then the producer, then a mastering engineer who all add their own input and opinion of how the 'master' track should sound.  Yes there is more compression on an mp3 but the final sound is not that different from a CD.  If you want the best sounding medium, buy vinyl.

I've seen all the greats live my friend....Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim, Main Source etc.

I agree vinyl has a great sound, but it's very hard to find 20 year old vinyl in good condition.

You got ripped off. Only worth around £65 IMO.

Cool, looks like you have good taste in hip-hop.
