We do have three left sided players but-
One's legs have gone, one will probably want to leave in January and the other has hardly been a revalation.
This time next season we'll just have Petrov and will probably need to invest in a left-sided player.
Doubt we will be able to afford him- didn't Arsenal want him a year or so ago and were being quoted like 15-20M?

Few rumours on 606 that GC to Spurs is a done deal for January at £? + Alan Hutton. Could be absoulte BS, but at the same time it is the sort of deal I could see us doing.
If he is going to leave I'd be happy if we have it all sorted out beforehand- gives us more time to get a replacement in rather than leaving it till the last week and ending up with the Gregorz Rasiak of centre backs.
And could be good business- we're lacking a good right back- and Hutton is certainly better than what we have- as long as the £? is significant enough to buy a decent replacement for Cahill with money left over then I'd be happy.

Or we made a bid knowing full well it was never going to be accepted which is what West Ham was doing in the summer, I think there was alot of media manipulation going on during Megsons time in charge. |
