Right.

I work in Manchester and often go out with colleagues and clients for fancy lunches and the like, but I'm getting sick of the same places now - can anyone recommend anything half decent?

The Garrett on Princess Street is a good bet. Any all day session starts in there.

Cheap food, very tasty.

Thumbs up from me.

Been there before, it's superb - both as a bar and as a restaurant.

Added to the list, cheers. What sort of grub does it serve up?

Mainly pub type stuff, Weatherspoons-esque.

Do an all day brekkie at about 3 quid, spot on.

There's no where decent in Preston to eat for lunch and that's a fact. This is the shittiest place I've ever worked in my life.

I lived and worked in Preston for nigh on seven years, and completely agree with this statement. I worked down by the docks at this travel firm, and your choices there were either home-brought butties, Morrisons shíte salad or KFC. Dog-shíte.

I'm on the Fulwood side & it's just as grim. Replace Morrisons with Asda & KFC for Subway. City my arse!

I lived in Fulwood whilst I was there - the Black Bull on Garstang Rd was always somewhere to get decent grub, and there was that Le Frog place next door that used to be Curry in a Hurry, but otherwise I'd only recommend the jacket potatoes from the Booths opposite the hospital.

I work in Manchester, but agree that Preston isn't exactly packed full of quality eating establishments.

I don't have time for the Black Bull of a lunch & it seems to be Booths for me most days, but even that's becoming dull & the hospital dwellers are putting me right off, the workshy smelly cripples!

Silly post. I presume you worked for Gold Medal Travel which means you were nowhere near the city centre...what did you expect?

That and the old people who go food shopping wearing their Sunday best.

I did indeed, hell-hole that it is - though living in Fulwood meant that I was a short walk from the city centre of a night-time, and meant that I was able to try out most of the restaurants there.

Try Trafford Park, the range of grub here is simply exquisite.

Not.

For decent bar grub how about The Town Hall Tavern on Tib Lane or Tib Street.

I'm sure there is a McDonald's in Manchester, probably 15 of them.

The Big Mac is exquisite, give the deep fried salad a miss though Wink

Nando's inside the printworks, or what about Wagamama's at Spinningfields - Deansgate in same building as Royal Bank of Scotland
