Unfortunately folks it's not a great 'spy' this week for a couple of reasons. There isn't really a 'KUMB' style forum out there for Birmingham City, so I've had to dig around a few 'small' forums to try and piece a spy together for this week, but also their supporters are a lot less angry than the West Ham lot, even after they threw away a 2-goal lead against 10 men!

Anyway, here goes. I've taken most of my quotes from:

Birmingham Mail forum http://forums.birminghammail.net

Joys and Sorrows http://www.joysandsorrows.co.uk

After doing some digging round, there wasn't really anything worthwhile posting on the 'preview' side of the match, they were all just talking about what formations they would like to see of their players and didn't mention anything on our guys. There wasn't much activity during the match either:

The first post during the game is a strange one. Why would the referee give a penalty AFTER giving a free kick?
Quote
Why if the referee sent the Bolton goalkeeper off for slapping Johnson did he not award the penalty ?

If you thought that was daft, someone else on the forum AGREES with him!
Quote
he was booked for saying something afterwards. Your point on the pen is well taken

I always thought he was pretty decent, especially that goal against Liverpool last season but they don't seem to like him:
Quote
Why is jerome still a blues player seriously the blokes a joke an I don't even want to hear no excuses. NEED A NEW STRIKER AN WINGER!!!!

In response to his comment:
Quote
Will you ever give the team a break. Was never a pen or a free kick. Oh, I guess you saw our come backs in the previous two games as well.

Now there's something we agree on, that the referee was truly awful in the match. However, we thought he was bad because he was awarding everything to them, so what are they complaining about?
Quote
I'm surprised only one of our players has limped off but ref seems not to watching

Yeah he's been terrible...
Quote
We might lose this, cant believe what I am seeing. The ref has been awful.

Resident Birmingham Chav on board:
Quote
before the match i would have taken a point a bolton we all know their physical but after going 2 nil up it feels more like a loss, the ref was a joke jerome didnt do a thing and when we need some one to take the pressure off up front we leave ziggy on the bench and bring on fahey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never heard him called this before, it's usually something biblical:
Quote
I agree Owen "Big Gob" Coyle effectively referred the last 20 minutes of the game!

Sounds oh too familiar with a certain Gary Megson:
Quote
that 2nd half display was a disgrace and as usual is down to ecks negative approach in setting us up for a point every game

Considering they have just thrown the game away, they are in a pretty 'positive' mood:
Quote
We always get beat at Bolton so a point is a good result. Yes it's disappointing to blow a two goal lead, but they never looked like scoring apart from the odd set piece, and both fouls given for both goals were dubious - the ref seemed intent on levelling up for sending their keeper off, which was a clear red (and why wasn't it a penalty either).

Well yeah, because you always foul him!
Quote
Naive defending (you can guarantee DAVIES is going to get himself a few decisions in and around the box.)

Wouldn't say it's a mini league, out of the top 6 it's everyone else battling it out!
Quote
Take some positives - a point at Blunderland AND Bolton - both considered to be rivals in the mini league we are in, and both teams that beat us last year BUT NOT THIS YEAR.

Bloody hell, don't think this guy saw the game:
Quote
Just found out we drew 2-2 with Bolton.

That puts us 2 points better off than against those same teams last season and we are now playing well.

Bright future for us.

Now they're going a bit daft:
Quote
Unbeaten in the prem, win at home and draw away...champions league anyone?

Agreed with this, I didn't think they were a good side at all and were fortunate to be 2-0 up:
Quote
Whilst I agree that both decisions were soft, I hope that Alex also acknowledges (privately, if nothing else) that it was a below-par performance by Blues for much of the game, considering that over half of it was played against ten men.

What a load of rubbish, he clearly gave more free kicks to them than us!
Quote
Ref was bolton-ist all game tbh. Our own fault for not pushing on amd putting the game away. Why keep 5 in midfield when they have 3?

There it is, the magical term, THUGS. I'm sure they just think 'oh they are more northern than us so they must be thugs':
Quote
Yer, glad we got something out of this fixture. Not sure if it's 2 points lost though?
Blackburn Bolton Blackpool they are all going to be thugs with big hearts.
Our friend bottled it and gave them the 2 goals in the end but that's football sometimes.
Good result better than last year. Davies is a handful and tied up at least 2 of our players all match.

And finally to cap it off, a bit of negativity!
Quote
I thought our display in the second half was pathetic. If we can't beat a Bolton side with 10 men after being 2 up then we are in for a very difficult time.

That's it unfortunately, all I could really find. I wouldn't like to see what they are like after a win if that's what they are like after throwing one away, it would be an even worse Spy!

At least we've got Man United and Arsenal coming up soon so I'm sure we'll be back to some cracking ones  Wink

Thanks for reading

If I was a Brum fan I would have felt really pissed off after throwing away a 2-0 lead with a man advantage, We've been there and it doesn't half make you annoyed.

Great stuff as usual Howfen  Smiley

Well I think as Bolton fans we've had our fair share of throwing away 2 goal leads and I've seen what this forum is like when we have done, and it doesn't make pleasant reading! I was hoping that we would get some funny posts because of our comeback, but surprisingly enough they all seem pleased with a point!

As I say, always a difficult one the Birmingham one but the arrogance of Man United 'fans' and if we resort back to long-ball tactics against Arsenal I'm sure we'll have a couple of juicy ones lined up for the next few weeks... oh and let's not forget the Burnley cup match too!

Joys and Sorrows sounds like the most homosexual football forum in history, it wouldnt look out of place as a poetry forum.

Far too polite that Brummy lot.

Even their forums are dull.

Good read all the same.

I'm looking forward to the Burnley one. It will have started as soon as the draw was made I should think, by the time the match comes they could be up there to rival KUMB if January is anything to go by!

If you think Birmingham are bad, why do you think I completely skipped the one for the Fulham match?!

I spent a while on the official Fulham site when I was selling some programmes for a girl at work (for her late dad). It was like picking a fight with a soggy bar of soap.
