I think he has looked pretty decent in all of the few times I have seen him. Some outstanding saves and the player I really think should take over when Jussi hangs up his gloves or sooner. He aint gone has he?

No, Owen Coyle said after the Southampton game he'll be a Bolton player next season.

Also not surprised about the 94% 'cos Wigan have conceded 18 goals in their last 3 prem games, they probably would vote for a new defence, or maybe a whole new team.

Oh how the tide has turned after they were slagging off the signing for being a 'notlob reject'.

Should push his price up a treat.

Started today and Kirkland wasn't even on the bench.

He has already bolcked a decent effort by Spurs on what is their annual showboating match.

Couple of mins left in game- Ali has had a great game, made some good saves and it looks like a clean sheet.

Sell for 1.5 million so we can re-sign Sean Davis for another year.

Well after that I can see Wigan making a big for him and us accepting it.

I would take 2-3mill, nothing less as I think he will be on par with Jussi in a couple of seasons.

2 or 3 Mil, you must be kidding. I don't see any point in selling Ali now unless a ridiculous offer comes in. He is the future number one for many years to come at Bolton if we keep him. I doubt we are that financially stricken to have to sell one of our best prospects. Give it 2 or 3 years and we could make 5 times what you would take now.

28 actually and 29 in December.

Suppose Jussi goes another 2/3 seasons, then Habsi is going to be in his thirties by the time he gets in the team. And by the time Jussi retires, Ron Weasley might well be ready.

Maybe it is best cashing in.

But maybe it is better letting him have this season at Wigan on loan- let him make abit of a name for himself if he carries on as he has today- then we can sell him for more to a better club.

We shouldn't have loaned him out especially to a team like Wigan, he's just earned Wigan some points. A team who usually finish near us.

We all know he's an excellent goalkeeper and now the rest of the country are going to know what we've known for years. It's just so frustrating that we have had such a talent sat on the bench all this time but what can you do when you have quality as it is with Jussi in nets?

It's just our luck that when Jussi retires, Al Habsi will have moved on and we'll have someone a load of rubbish in goals.

Would that be 94% of the 60 fans who went to the game?

Nice to see him to so well against Spurs; not so nice to see him earn some points for Wigan.

It was a bloody stupid idea to loan him out to Wigan, one of our rivals. I just hope Coyle doesn't do something ridiculously stupid and sell him. You have to remember Habsi doesn't have massive first team experience like Jussi, Habsi will only improve and get better. He deserves better than Bolton Wanderers FC, we have given him no chances at all, 2 seasons ago he didn't play a single second of first team football and last season I don't remember him playing a minute in the league. He is a talented keeper and IMO has far higher natural ability than Jussi.

100% agreed.  I watched the game today and Ali was solid, made a couple of great saves and showed great command of his area on all but one or two occasions.  Wigan defended very well and limited Spurs to a handful of decent chances when they had about 30% possession for most of the game.

I agree that loaning him to Wigan was stupid knowing his talent but now that its done we need to let him shine all season and then sell him on for hopefully a decent sum.  I would have him between the sticks for us but he's not going to unseat Jussi and he does deserve better than we've treated him.

Meh.  If he was willing to sign a new contract at the same time as Jussi did he knew what he was in for.

Just seen some of his saves on match of the day, he made one mistake that could of ruined his performance. Cudicini messed up in the other net for Wigan's goal. That no.3 for Wigan with one of the misses of the season, absolute donkey.

Apart from when Ali plays he throws it out.

What is Jussi's obsession with passing to the other goalkeeper?

Someone needs to tell him you don't get points for that.

Turning a defence into an attack within one kick rather than 10.

Our defenders/midfielders aren't really famed for their ability to turn defence into attack with a composed 15 pass move.

If only 1 of every 10 hoofs up towards the goalkeeper lead to a Kevin Davies head on and leads to a chance within 2 touches of a Jussi kick then I can't see anything wrong with it- and I can think of at least 3 goals last season off the top of my head that came from Jussi booting up onto Davies' head. I'm sure we wasted possesion lots of times doing that- but until we get a back four and midfielders comfortable enough of getting the ball- looking up, taking their time and picking the right pass then we are probably best just letting Jussi knock it up to Davies. At the moment we have Cahill, Petrov and maybe Holden in the first team who can do that.

Weren't 2 of our goals against West Ham started with goal kicks?
