To be quite honest, I think Bolton would benefit from the likes of Ricardo Vaz Te in the starting line up. He has a point to prove, he will WANT to score goals to get in the first team week in week out. Davies and Diouf play they're socks off for Bolton, but aren't up to much infront of goal. Whack Vaz Te out there, or Harsanyi and they will be that goal hungry they wont stop til they get one, and then it's like the pringles effect! *once you pop u just can't stop!!*

Not too sure about Harsanyi at the moment, I think he needs to go out on loan before playing in the Premier League.

As for Vaz Te, he needs a run in the team and for some of the fans to get off his back. At the end of the 05/06 season he had a run of games and ended up with 4 or 5 goals. The next season, Allardyce limited him to cameo appearances in stoppage time and he got injured on the opening day this season after an impressive pre-season.

Maybe give him a chance in Lisbon, he did it in Guimaraes!

Agree with vaz te, maybe not harsanyi for this season. i also think andranik deserves a few games, whenever he played last season he was our best midfielder, obviously this season the competition has been alot stronger but its time for people like campo to step aside when he seems to be offering less to the team than people who he is keeping out of it ie ando.

Looks like tomorrow night is a big night for a lot of players wanting to stake their claim.

Most of the first team left behind, lets hope we see some real effort from the lads who step in.

First team need to save their legs. I can see Sporting going into extra time, they wouldn't be fresh for Wigan if they flew to Portugal and played 2hrs football

Did players like Vaz Te, Andranik etc need a bigger stage to prove their worth to the first team on? They were poor!

I think its abit harsh to judge em on the one game as they didnt make too many major erroras, not like samuel and meite in defence anyway. Alot of the players on thursday wernt match fit which is hardly surprising and the players hadnt played alot together. Although i agree partly re. vaz te. He didnt seem to be interested which, being that it was his chance to prove himself was surprising but again he hasnt played in a long time and to write him off would be unfair
