I got a bit curious as to who Roy Keane had signed with his reportedly £80 million since his appointment for Sunderland exactly 100 games ago, so I did a bit of research.

I would not guarantee my findings to be 100% accurate but the best I could do in the time I was willing to spend on it produced the following list.  I did limit myself to just his signings since Sunderland were promoted back to the Premiership.

Michael Chopra - £5m - Cardiff on loan
Kieran Richardson -£5.5m
Kenwyne Jones - £6m
Russell Anderson - £1 - Burnley on loan
Greg Halford - £3.5m - Sheffield United on loan
Paul McShane - £1.5m - Hull on loan
Craig Gordon -£9m
Phil Bardsley - £2m
George McCartney - £4.5m
Carlos Edwards - £1.5m
Steed Malbranque - £17m combined fee*
Teemu Tainio - £17m combined fee*
Pascal Chimbonda - £17m combined fee*
El Hadji Diouf - £2.6m
Liam Miller - free
Andy Reid - £4m
David Healy - £1.2m
Anton Ferdinand - £8m
Rade Prica - £2m

19 players (4 of which are currently out on loan) totalling £74.3m!!!

Of these the above highlighted players played against us yesterday.

I'm not trying to prove anything but it does seem that even having deep pockets does not guarantee success.

To be fair, some of the players he signed aren't too bad, I really rate Malbranque.

But the prices he's paid for some of those players is just shocking, that's why I was worried about us spending so much money since Megson arrived.

How Sunderland would swap places with us right now.
