As bad as they sounded today I still expect them to be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

They'll be up there as in possible playoff contenders but I don't buy that they are the best the division has to offer. Not right now. But then again my pick Middlesbrough were also beat 3-1 at home by Ipswich so it could be an unpredictable season.

Burnley looked very, very good today at the back. Notts Forest only had one decent chance all game.
Derby are currently playing well at Leeds.
Should be a good season.

QPR were always going to win that, but the Ipswich result was surprising.

That's the thing I love about the Football League, anything can happen, look at Blackpool for instance.

Yup. The trouble is that not all teams are ready for promotion. Blackpool being the example.

They have a very small squad, they don't have any money, and not much quality in the squad either. And their new away stand is not complete, therfore, they will have to play away games till it is.

In The Sun today (yes I know I said I would stop reading it, and will eventually) I was reading the Bristol City match preview and it said:
Striker Nicky Hunt (ankle) misses out
Striker? Seriously they make my blood boil the lazy journalist twats.

The man simply understands that Hunt should play upfront.

We have a large squad compared to them, and we have quality in our team. Charlie Adam is a class act though.

Blackpool were ready for promotion, otherwise it wouldn't have happened. They are nowhere near ready for survival however. And Holloway has decided the best way to combat this problem is to just... leave it and see how they get on.

There was an interview with him in The Mail today. Apparently they've not received the first payment of the PL TV money yet (It was due on friday) and a lot of the agents/clubs are asking too much for players as they're assuming Blackpool have money to spend. (He goes on to say they've had to hire more admin staff and have spent a fair bit on finishing their stands and upping capacity to 17,600). Still, no signings with 6 days left until the new season is worrying! For them, at least.

Semantics. They were good enough to get promoted, they were not ready for promotion.

Yeah I won't argue with that. It's comparable to when we won promotion in 1994/5. We were clearly not ready as we showed by our relegation the following year, but we grew as a club because of it and ever since have either been a Premiership club, or a favourite for promotion to it. Burnley are going through it and the same could happen for Blackpool.

Burnley have definatley got stronger since last year, I'd like them to come back up, so we can continue our little rivalry.

I would to be honest. I like as many north-west sides in our fixture list as possible and now Coyle has ignited the rivalry with Burnley it will be a great atmosphere for a good while.

Very solid defence in their first game. Bikey looks like a top class defender at that level but they lack something down the flanks. They could easily go up if Law's can get over his aversion to attacking.
