How much will Bolton willingly pay him?

More than they'd unwillingly pay him.

I dare-say he'll get the same deal as Petrov.  Decent lump-sum to sign on the basis of taking lower wages; probably about 25-30k.  But it's purely a guess.

In what sense weaker, Nat?  Do you just not rate Petrov or do you mean because he's likely to get injured?

I think Wilshere gave more to the team than Petrov will. I don't know enough about Petrov to say he is or isn't a good player. But he's a winger and foreign which suggests he isn't going to be up for it come the Winter months.

He's a good player;when fit. He will be the best left winger we will have had in a long time.

He's foreign but he isn't one that is a virgin to English football, which is why I'd like to believe Petrov will be a solid starter from the first whistle against Fulham. Admittedly though like Natasha I haven't seen enough of him myself to judge yet, but going off the clubs we beat off to get him he seems to be a very sought-after player.

I also don't expect a massive leap up the league this season, but we could finish 14th and still consider it improvement if we have some matches to crow about. This could be a derby win or two, a last minute win against the odds, or maybe even go back to the Allardyce days and upset the big boys.

I'll still look at this season as Part Two of the masterplan. The first part was survival, now we are on to building a strong and sturdy foundation. Only when we get that at all positions can we move onto becoming a top-half club, and that will never happen in just one transfer window.

Chris - the single most important thing to our hopes of improvement next season is the defence.  Even with the same attack as last season we would move way up the table with even an average defensive record.

This season is about survival first and foremost, anything else is a bonus.

I have to agree with that.  I think most of us are yet again getting too carried away.

Let's pay good attention to the Spain under 19 match today, so we'll see Rodrigo Play...
And judge if he's worth a punt!!
But wait, Is he not suppose to play for Brazil???

Don't be daft Dareq. He needs three whole games before we can judge things like that!

By that reasoning John Barnes should have played for Jamaica and Owen Hardgrives Canada. As long as someone qualifies which Moreno should due to residency, I'm guessing, then that should be that. Morena can still qualify for the full Brazil team provided that he hasn't played a competitive game for the Spanish equivalent.

We're in desperate need of strikers so I would have him back. We still need someone with pace though.

Moreno scored in Spain's 2-1 loss against France in the final, nice strike also.

Was his wrong foot but the keeper should have saved it.

*edit* going off the 10 mins of highlights he looks like he makes all the right runs.  Doesn't have lightning pace, but may just look slower as France's defence was fast.

fcuking hell how shite was the keeper for that goal!

Don't get me wrong I assume he must be half decent to be playing for Real Madrid but christ Bogdan would never play again if a striker scored past him like that!

He's left footed.

He's left footed.

Not from what I've seen.  Dribbles on his right, passes with his right.  What makes you think he's a lefty? (I'm perfectly prepared to be wrong on that as I've only watched him on DVD).

I saw 'Real Madrid fans opinion' on him- on another Bolton forum, and quite a few of them were saying he's too left footed, I may be wrong.

You mean favours his left too much?  I'd be surprised, but highlights can be like that.

The only video I can find of him, shows him scoring three goals, two of them are with his left foot.

Fair enough.  Like I said, i only know him from a DVD that was mostly Alonso.
