If OC really wants to get us playing how I think he wants us to then (now brace yourselves  )

Klasnic and Elmander up front as I think in a 4-4-2 they are our best goal threats if we played it on the ground and down the flanks.

Don't get me wrong I can't see Davies being dropped in a million years due to him being captain and all that but I am just a little tired of it being Davies and who else up front.

Aaron - if every player we put onto the pitch as going to produce the best football they were capable of producing, guaranteed, then I'd play Elmander and Klasnic upfront too.  The problem is that whilst Elmander has put in genuinely exceptional performances in International and European games (he's managed to look world class in some of them) his performances for us have been about a 4 out of 10 on average.  Davies is a solid 7 player.  Sometimes he'll get an 8, sometimes a 6......but he is very, very consistent in a Bolton shirt.  No manager will swap the hope of a 10 once in a blue moon (and never for us) for an almost guaranteed 7 a game.  If you see what I mean (that may not have been the clearest explanation of my views).

If we could somehow get Elmander to play his top game all season then Davies wouldn't get a look in, but then if Elmander could produce that form for 38 games he'd have succeeded at Feyenoord and be playing for a european giant now.

Elmander and Klasnic would, however, allow Elmo to find form a lot more readily than Elmander and Davies.

Elmander is in the last year of his contract as well isn't he?

Yes, which is bad because either he does rubbish and leaves for nothing, or he does well and gets snapped up in January on a free by another club.
