2 games at the end of the season resulting in 1 point, a full pre season and only 5 points from 9 games and knocked out of the league cup.

We didn't have bad players, on paper Braaten and Wilhelmsson looked good signings, but they didn't work out, Bolton did the right thing to change things, just a shame it was Megson, but in fairness Megson did at least keep us up, which was a miracle to be honest.

Maybe not, but he still wasn't given enough time.

Pressures of staying in the premier league I guess Natasha; what with the finances it brings etc.

Why should managers get any more time than we give the players.

We boo our players after 2 or 3 games. IMO Sammy Lee was given too long.

It suggests it is Hodgson's opinion, it doesn't suggest Sammy Lee said it.

Sammy Lee was out of his depth, but he was left a shite squad and given very little time to change things.

A shite squad that qualified for Europe the season before? And Anelka in it?

Come on he was clueless. Yes he had a job to do, but he signed utter shite and we were the worst organised Bolton side under his leadership I have ever seen.

And boy did he change it. I've never known such a rapid transition from 'not great' to 'absolutely shíte', but he's set the record.

He really didn't need to change the entire squad over the summer which for some reason he wanted to do, it was an ageing side yes but a couple of new signings and we would have been ok.

I think he got giddy when he realised he was getting the job and thought I will put my own stamp on this club by bringing in loads of new players and try making us into an attacking side which plays football the right way.

Unfortunatley the signings were fuckign aweful and by all acounts totally lost the entire squad on the training ground by swearing at them all the time.

Didn't do himself much justice though did he; you know, with the signings that he made.

I'm not sure what I'd have done with the kind of budget he had!  He was given no money and told to "carry on regardless".

He wasn't a good manager, not really, but to see the hate thrown at him over a quote from someone else is surprising to me.
