Bolton are a partnership league with the local Bolton & Bury League which is one of the best leagues in the area / country for kids . They get first look at the 6/7 year old that enter the league and I know the scouts / coaches work very hard to get the best kids into the academy. The partnership has only been in place a couple of seasons so its early doors for them to be producing anything first team wise.
As for Man City dragging in 300 kids for a trial the way they run their academy is very poor most of the kids they have brought through recently have been brought in at 13/14 from other academies. At the end of the day there are kids involved and the way that City have treated some kids from the local leagues has been very poor
