What's people's opinion on the 2 who killed him after one of them has been jailed for looking at inappropriate images of children.

How these 2 only got 8 years back then, even though they we only kids themselves at the time pisses me off when people get more time for lesser actions.

And it also annoys me why nobody is allowed to know their new names, the public should know these things just incase one of the (unts move into their neighberhood!

The 2 of them obviously was not wired up right to begin with as I seem to recall the both of them come from terrible families and spent alot of time watching horror movies which obviously warped their minds a bit.

The 1 in question is clearly sick in the head and should be caged for aslong as possible as he has proven yet again that he is incapable of living in a civilised society.

He won't be though because the courts in this country are too soft with pricks like him, he will be out in 2 years for crying out loud.

He served 8 as a child so he won't be too concerned about this sentence.

Bring back the electric chair then. Find out why he did the crime, then smoke the tosser.

Guantanamo bay might be more suitable.

Apperently he will be setenced to at least 10 years if found guilty and I would have thought the courts take a dim view on paedophiles, I just feel sorry for the parents of James Bulger as they must have lived the last 20 or however long ago it was years feeling like they are forever missing a part of them.

Really? I heard on the radio this morning that the crime carries a minimum of 10 years, this country really is in a sorry state.

I bet he does not even do 12 month as they could just release him back into society without anybody knowing any different as he has a secret identity, scum.

Who knows he might be sharing a cell with that guy who got 16months for creating 3 fake bus passes.....and to think he will be out in less time  Huh as you said this country is on it's arse.

Sentences that are based around defrauding companies or the government of money are always alot harsher than crimes against other human beings, it is a unjust and corrupt system and I think it is about time we started to dish out our own punishments on those who have done wrong.

This is a story that i feel very strongly about, maybe because my son is around the same age as these two were when they killed James Bulger.

Their supporters say they came from 'disadvantaged' backgrounds, had little or no parental guidence and were too young to know the consequences of their actions.......TOTAL BULLSHIT! My son is 9 and knows the difference between right and wrong as do all his mates of the same age.

Many children come from similar or worse backgrounds and while i think it is fair to say that kids brought up like this run a higher risk of becoming involved in drugs and crime, it does not mean that they will, the biggest majority of these kids turn out ok. The same goes for children of familys who could be classed as 'well to do'. What causes some of these kids to turn to drugs and crime?

I can understand why they had new identities when they were released from prison, and i agree with it to a certin extent, they done their time and should be allowed to try and build a life now.......what i DO NOT agree with is the fact that Venables will be allowed to keep this identidy after reoffending. He may well even have yet another new one created on his release. He is an adult now, he had his chance and blew it.  He is a risk to the public and in particular a risk to children.

'Venables was also banned from using a computer or the internet for five years and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years upon any eventual release. '

This is laughable, how the hell are they going to inforce that? Are they going to pal up with him and go with him everywhere to make sure he dosnt buy a computer or use a mates, are they going to make sure that he dosnt have a mobile phone that has internet access? I dont think so!

This man commited the most horrific crime imaginable and was given a second chance which he blew, the second he reoffended he should have lost his right to keep his identidy secret.

Blimey Spud, you really must be pissed off. You even pushed the boat out with a few capital letters. Knock yourself out next time and treat us to the spell checker too! Grin

Off at a slight tangent. What pisses me off about the whole thing is Bulger's mum playing the victim all these years on. Her sons death was a direct result of her criminal association with the two boys who killed him.

you would be right squidgy, thought i would put a bit off effort into it for once, but worry not as normal service has now be resumed!

you make a good point about his mother, if that is true then what i want to know though is why were details of this not in the press at the time?

I forget the exact term, but there is generally a press blackout on reporting the details of the crime if it involves juveniles and/or is not deemed suitable for the public domain. And this certainly was not!

The whole story is just very upsetting, my oldest son is the same age as James Bulger was and regardless of the age of those 2 little rats, I cannot believe how those 2 could carry out such a sickening attack.
