Iran international Andranik Teymourian has turned down the chance of an extended trial with Blackburn.

The former Bolton and Fulham player was invited on Rovers' pre-season tour of Australia after featuring in friendlies against Southport and Huddersfield this week.

The 27-year-old midfielder has chosen to remain in the UK to pursue other options.

Didn't make it here, didn't make it at Fulham and didn't make it at Barnsley. I think he's an idiot turning down the chance to earn a deal at Blackburn.

Aww, I was kind of looking forward to seeing him fail at Ewood.

No it's not. He doesn't play for us any more so it's in here.  Cool

Will forever be remembered for that match at Wigan. Grin

That was easily his best game in a wanderers shirt and I thought that was going to be the springboard for big things from Andranik in a Bolton Shirt.

I thought so too Sharps.  He looked so good in the second half of that season, I thought for sure we'd see more of him.  Not sure what happened though it looks to be at least partly an attitude issue, given that he has failed repeatedly now with several clubs.

That was his only good game as a Wanderer. Fantastic game, but only one game regardless. He was a no-mark other than that. Not bad, but no better than average.

To be fair to Andranik, that was his only real chance in the first team. Sam always like ot let players bed in so he featured very little before Xmas, if at all. He then scored a brace away at Doncaster but we were doing well in the league and had a settled team with a settled midfield of Campo, Nolan and Speed. It was always going to be tough to break in to the team. In fact, I'm pretty sure he was only in the team against Wigan because Nolan was suspended.

He impressed me the times he played and looked like he could have been a big player for us but Allardyce left and Megson arrived. the following season Andranik didn't play, he didn't even make the bench, and was released. Shame! It looks like they may have been right about him going off his subsequent career but, to me anyway, it seems like such a waste. Ah well!

Things must be pretty piss-poor over at Ewood if Allardyce is offering extended trials to players that, having seen on a daily basis for however long, he's already deemed not to be up to it.
Blackburn types at work are telling me though that the Trustees of the Jack Walker slush-fund are refusing to release any money until the situation with these Indians is sorted out. Ergo - Allardyce hasn't a red cent to spend. Not only that but they've only got Jason Roberts by way of a centre forward, and as such they've been playing Gamst Pedersen up top in pre-season.
How's your luck, fatty?
