That was his only good game as a Wanderer. Fantastic game, but only one game regardless. He was a no-mark other than that. Not bad, but no better than average.
To be fair to Andranik, that was his only real chance in the first team. Sam always like ot let players bed in so he featured very little before Xmas, if at all. He then scored a brace away at Doncaster but we were doing well in the league and had a settled team with a settled midfield of Campo, Nolan and Speed. It was always going to be tough to break in to the team. In fact, I'm pretty sure he was only in the team against Wigan because Nolan was suspended.
He impressed me the times he played and looked like he could have been a big player for us but Allardyce left and Megson arrived. the following season Andranik didn't play, he didn't even make the bench, and was released. Shame! It looks like they may have been right about him going off his subsequent career but, to me anyway, it seems like such a waste. Ah well!
