I find it a lot better than the other cheap versions of blackcurrant.

Warm Vimto & Ribena are both very good shouts.

Where do you stand on C-Vit?

Call me ignorant / feeble / a peasant, but what in the Christ are these?

They are all non-alcoholic everyday beverages that you add water to. In other words, cordials!

I've only ever heard of lime cordials.  It really is a different world over there I guess.

Looking it up on wikipedia now...  OK I get it.  We call these "soft drinks", though I have had both lime cordials and grenadine.   Wink

There were loads of other images - but I rather stick to the classic designs.

My dear, how should I have phrased that in your humble opinion then?

By "we" I of course was referring to us over here in America's hat.

Probably something like; Cordials? They sounds great. We don't have anything like that here in America. We only have soft drinks, and feel there is much we can learn from your great nation about thirst quenching.

Cordials?  They sound great.  Oh wait, actually there is something like that in CANADA, there's a lime one and a red one called Grenadine.  And having seen several shows on the food channel about Britain's culinary exploits,  I think I'll go with what I've got if you don't mind Smiley

better? (I'll try once again to keep the "new worldisms" at bay, old habits die hard after all)

Isn't grenadine something they put in cocktails? I seem to remember Squidgy mentioning something once!

I was going to let it go as he's foreign and knows no better, but yes, you're right. And lime cordial is really only used by cheap tarts in half a lager, though I must admit it is reasonable with vodka and soda.

One has never heard of C-Vit. I shall instruct my maid to purchase a bottle on her next shopping trip.

Wikipedia defines cordials (or Squash drinks) as a fruit based concentrate that is then mixed with a liquid such as water or soda to taste.  Sounds like a pretty good description of grenadine to me, though I'm not sure its as much fruit based as it is fruit flavored.  Its like a thick fruit/sugar syrup commonly mixed with fruit juice and soda plus whatever alcohol one enjoys.

C-Vit is a no-added sugar blackcurrant cordial made by GlaxoSmithKline, who also make Ribena.

i dont know how to quote from one thread into another so im just gonna copy and paste my entry for quote of the week....

Click the quote button at the top of every post - then simply copy everything - including the last bit that is always like this -
- then go to the thread you want and paste it into your post.

If you only want a bit of the original quote then simply delete out the bits you don't want.

As long as the post as the
at the end of it - the quote should work.

Might be worth checking it in 'preview' first before actually posting it first.

Hope this helps.
