I'm a fairly tolerent kind of bloke. I don't consider myself racist, I have a 'live and let live' outlook on life.

I've just spent 20 minutes on the phone to Lloyd's TSB to essentially tell them that they have sent me a duplicate letter about a loan I have with them (the first of which was also a cock up there end). It should have been resolved in 2 or 3 minutes.

After bimbling around for about 10 minutes and being put on hold, the cheeky cúnt had the audacity to say that she didn't understand my English and could I speak more clearly. I work in communications FFS!

The asian on the phone in Transformers 1 is hilarious.

I had a problem with Internet connection a couple of month back, called up our provider and it was some woman who I couldn't understand at all, I put the phone down and rang back the next hour.

Change your bank. RBS are all British. Though having said that, I do struggle with a few of the sweatys.

BT by any chance? Waste of space. Had trouble with mine ever since we joined them last year and phoned up at least half a dozen times about the same problem, on the phone for at least an hour each time!

It's renewal time in 2 weeks, I'll be taking my custom elsewhere.

We're stuck in the middle of a phone contract with BT and have to pay about £100 to get out of it so only after broadband, which isn't the cheapest with Sky when you need unlimited downloads.

£7.50 a month with o2 because I'm with them for my phone. Beats the rest at the minute.

dont talk about BT Manny. i had my home phone through them and was getting my broadband free through O2 (one of the perks of working for them at the time). I had to cancel my direct debits for a month and awaited a bill from BT so i could pay it over the phone or at the post office. the bill never came, although i always got one when i was using direct debit. after a few mths i rung them and asked how much i owed and why i wasnt getting a bill,  i cant remember the amount but it wasnt too much as i never used the home phone so it was line rental only but they did insist they had been sending me bills.

after spending god knows how long arguing that i hadnt recieved one and that it was the correct address i told them i would pay it by my card and get it out of the way........their systems wouldnt accept my card, saying there was a problem with it and to contact the bank.

i rung the bank and was told that i had sufficent funds to cover the transaction and there should be no reason why it wouldnt accept my card and the girl asked if i minded telling them who i was trying to use it with, as soon as i said BT she told me that there were so many calls coming through to them saying the same thing.

back on the phone to BT to tell them there wasnt a problem with my card and it was their systems and the guy was ignorant as hell to me, i told them to make sure to send me a bill and i would pay it at the post office, the bill never came.

rung them back a month or two later to say that i hadnt recieved the bill and again they were adment that i had, in the end i told them to set up another direct debit and to close my account with them, they tried to get me to stay and all that palava but there wasnt a hope in hell!!

its funny now though as they seem able to send me bumf about all their new offers for returning customers yet they couldnt send me a simple bill so i could pay at the post office

rant over!!

They're expensive, throw in a load of hidden charges and their staff spend all day on Burnden Aces. Plus, I don't live in a fibre optic area.

They've got some proper halfwits working for them as well.

I'd give them a wide birth.

I have been on the sick for the last 7 weeks so be quiet, I return tommorow though so you shall all be hearing less of me as I will have better things to do than entertain all of you.

I think I can add to this topic quite well seeing I work in this kind of thing although im not some customer service clown who spends all day waiting for people to call. This line of work obviously is not everybodys cup of tea so they do need to outsource it as they need somebody to answer the call even if it is backwards Runjab Singh from Bangalore.

I have to deal with these sorts internally so I know how irritating they are as I have to deal with them on a daily basis and trust me it is annoying to have to explain 4 times that you work their and some are obviously useful but the majority are alot more trouble than it is worth and I do honestly think that people would rather wait alot longer for somebody competent and easy to understand than Johnny Foreigner who you cannot really get a feel for as English is not their first language and they do not have a clue what English people are like.

Also Squidgy why do you feel the need to clarify that you are not racist just because you do not like Indian call centres, I hate when people feel the need to justify their stance and deal with alot of complaints such as this at work from black people aswell as white people.

As it was the opening post, I thought it would be easier to clarify my political stance. I was going to post "I'm not one of those EDL mob", but thought better of it.

Did your period of sickness coincide with Amos's downfall?

Nope I am just well enough to work again.

I am not sure whether or not living down their you have all this PC bullshit drummed into you but I get the impression that you believe people who dislike indian call centres are also members of the KKK on the sly.

You have asked so I am not being the new Amos, I slipped down the stairs bringing down my 9 month old son who was obviously 7 and a half month old when it happened and I damaged my neck but managed to keep hold of my son thus taking all the fall myself.

Had 2 physio sessions although I was disapointed as I was expecting physio to be a fit woman rubbing you're neck not some middle aged woman who hurts me for 30 minutes.

I have taken it easy in every job I have had since leaving school so I dont intend to work any other way, I am oddly looking forward to going back although that will all change by Friday next week.
