I've just noticed that Southampton as become the latest club along with Ipswich, Cardiff and Leicester, as well as Super League outfit Harlequins to ban the bloody things. The Southampton said it had done so following an "influx of requests". http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8815252.stmI'm just wondering if we should start some form of similar campaign to try and get them banned at the Reebok too. What do people think?

Banned? The fact that someone would want to take them in the ground should have the person banned anyway.

Sluffy, I'll gladly join your Crusade to rid the country of these devilish horns. They should stay in Africa.

I wouldn't mind them there to be honest; better than the silence you usually get.

Well it's more like an idea rather than a crusade. I just thought if there is interest perhaps Burnden Aces could lead some sort campaign with other BWFC sites on this issue. Obviously we need to know what people on here thought first though. Edit - If Didle isn't taking the piss though, I don't think we will get far though!

FFS.
If people turn up with em next season it'll be awful. I'll be on a mission to take and snap any within touching distance of me. Worst world cup ever.

A Premier League spokesman said: “Nothing in our rules specifically prohibits musical instruments from being brought into grounds as these matters are dealt with at a club level. It will be down to stadium managers, in consultation with supprters groups, to determine what is appropriate.” A Football League spokesman said they expected vuvuzelas to appear in the grounds. "There is a good chance they will end up in our grounds because people will bring them back from the World Cup. It is a matter for individual clubs, as is the case with drums and other musical instruments.

Well, if you're not taking the piss then the club have to answer why Westie gets kicked out every season for his bell (which is annoying) if they don't ensure these things are banned. You've got me goat now, Sluffers!

Nothing in our rules specifically prohibits musical instruments from being brought into grounds? Are they having a laugh? I didn't know they were turning matches into carnivals; can someone enlighten me if this is the case?

I'm only joking guys lol. I don't want them at the Reebok either, just a little joke Ok, Didle had us going then - but we are back on track again. No reason so far why the club wouldn't at least listen to us if we had a mandate to take this forward.

My post in other Vuvuzela thread: We should ALL buy a vuvuzela and use them for the games against the big four! Would piss them right off and may help us get a result if we let the players in on our scheme.
I know most Bolton fans hate them as well, but we'll just have to take one, er four, for the team!
I guess you numpties want us to get dicked by the big four again! I'll have to start a counter campaign to allow the Vuvuzelas at fortress Reebok!

Get rid. Worst invention ever, and a blight on the English game they will be. They only serve to drown out whatever atmosphere is there, and continue the African notion that making as much noise as possible counts as an atmosphere. Bongos, maracas, horns, trumpets... ban them all. If I see a small woman kicking off in the ESL with some chav and his vuvuzela, believe me I will be there to back her up.
