Hi everyone,
I'm a Bolton fan from Victoria, Canada. I've been a member over at BB for a couple of years and lurked at WW, TW and here until just now. Not sure why I didn't join up before, but I really enjoy reading the board and several of the characters here, you guys seem to have good attitudes and a friendly atmosphere, so I look forward to posting with you all!
cheers
pfk / Brendan

A new member who actually types proper English in their first post! THANK YOU!
Welcome to the boards Brendan. Are you going to the Toronto game next week?

I strongly considered it but its too big an expense for me at the moment.. Victoria to Toronto would run me upwards of a grand all included. My longer term plan is to actually come over to Reebok itself, hopefully inside of a year or so.

Welcome to the board mate.
There's a few that loiter on here in the wee small hours due to being in different time zones or, like myself, because of working odd hours

Believe it or not, no. I've followed football since I was young, played for 13 years through my youth, and caught the once-a-week game from England they would air on Saturday mornings. Along the way I caught a Bolton match, one of our first in the prem under Allardyce (against Arsenal), and for whatever unexplainable reason I was hooked. I since followed Bolton online and, in recent years, have been able to watch every match with the introduction of Setanta and Sportsnet here in Canada. People ask me why all the time.. it used to be a lot easier to defend supporting Bolton but became quite hard under our Gary, but things are looking up again these days. Welcome to the site, does pfk stand for anything?
Yes and No. They are unimportant initials of somebody.. I use them simply to keep easy track and use the same username everywhere. Thanks for the warm welcome!

I was holding out hope that they'd televise the TFC game, or at least offer some extended highlights.. CBC is showing their weekend MLS league games but I can't see the friendly listed. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the extended highlights, in any case. I doubt we'll see anything of the games against the USL sides, but you never know.

Welcome aboard, pfk - nice to have another CONCACAF Wanderer on here, and I'll try to avoid typing the word 'aboot' in future conversations!

Welcome along Brendan, pfk, or whatever you prefer. For now, since I know of no other Canadian on this forum (sorry if I did forget someone) I will just refer to you as Canada Your situation sounds very like mine in that you grew up over that side of the water and just saw an English side you liked and was hooked. I myself, while also being a Bolton fan, also found the Denver Broncos and while I know Canada and America are very different - I think you'll know what I mean. Just out of interest do you have any NFL and/or CFL teams you follow? I know Buffalo play there a game a year these days but while I know you are from Victoria, I don't actually know where that is in relation to anywhere else!

Hi Chris Rabz, thanks for the welcome Victoria is just a skip across the water from Vancouver BC and Seattle WA. As a result, I do follow the Seahawks and also the Sounders of the MLS (and soon the Whitecaps). As far as other sports go, Im not much of a hockey or baseball fan (odd for a Canadian) but I love me some NFL. CFL? up until about age 10, but its so vastly inferior a product, it would be like watching the SPL on a regular basis I find not too much difference between Yanks and Canadians.. or brits for that matter. We all have common ancestry and that accounts for a lot.
