Following the developments on the banter board last week, 'The Ghost of Burnden' (Chris Amos) will no longer be posting on this forum.
Although provoked into a reaction, jibes about cancer and personal death threats aren't necessary and will result in bans.
If you have any problems with posts, simply click the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of the post to let myself, Sluffy and Danny know. If we aren't around at the time, we will deal with the problem when we are next online.
An investigation is underway with the Independent Forum Complaints Committee (IFCC) and we will make no further comment on the matter.
If you are an admirer of Amos and his work, we believe he is now a resident of The Bolton News.

At the end of the day this place is just a football forum, it got way out of hand and both sides were as bad as each other, but Amos went too far and shouldn't have reacted in the way he did, which could now lead him into trouble.

Is that for real, Manny? If so, where could/will it leave the forum regarding legal responsibility? Personally, I thought it was allowed to continue much to long. Having said that, I didn't report it and I don't look to report any thread as I believe that is what moderators are for. I just stop reading threads that are of no interest or lose my interest. It's a shame that Chris Amos couldn't just stop reading, too. |

Seems like I've caught two people out already with this IFCC thing so to clear things up, to my knowledge, there is no such thing.
We don't get many posts reported, but please do so if anything causes offence because like I said, there isn't always somebody online to check things straight away. I usually find that the people who do use this function are the ones who dish out the dirt in the first place.

For the record I did not ask for him to be banned and when I was consulted, I said it was upto Manny and Sluffy as I was happy to ignore him.

The guy was crazy and he went too far with his death threats and particularly his cancer jibes, but he was great entertainment when he was having his breakdowns....I will miss him.
However, I am now in constant fear for my life and travel to and from work with an armed guard.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did kill you. He's obviously a proper nut case with mental issues and you provoked and antagonised him on a daily basis. Triggering breakdown after breakdown. I can see a murder and then a suicide on the horizon.

I tried to help and resolve the situation last week. Myself and other Burnden Aces posters agreed that a rimming session would be better than a murder. Sadly Natasha and Chris were to childish to rim each other and prefered to carry on their deadly war of words. This ban will probably send Amos over the edge and result in Natasha being murdered. Fingers crossed. |
