When you say clapped & bothered, cast your mind back to 1990. Now, I ask again, did they really look like they gave a shiny one?

I imagine they looked so bothered in 1990 because they were so close to victory...whereas today...

There is a difference though to getting cruely defeated on penalties after a heroic world cup campaign and playing shocking for 4 games only to get humiliated by a nation who has kicked off with us twice.  The media say that it is the numerous penalty wins against us which is why we have a rivalry with them but the main reason is obviously both world wars.

I can only assume Great Grandad Terry did not tip up on the beaches of Normandy and it speaks volume that somebody who has more money than all of them and is injured is willing to stick around but the captain cant get home quick enough to roll up a spliff and think up a new plan to avoid taking a drugs test.

Sharps, you're a stupid fooker for defending that shower of shite. But it's not really your fault, you don't know any better due to your lack of education.

I aint defending anybody I am just stating facts, one did clap and one did seem to be distraught but like I said could have easily been for show.

Whereas I think today's footballers are a shower of bastárds who need to realise wearing that shirt should mean something.

Terry - Terribly shown up, looks finished as a footballer (except that he'll be back to his usual self when the Prem kicks off again.)

Rooney - Scarcely kicked a ball in anger, looked like a midfielder instead of a striker.

Heskey - Doesn't score goals although he is supposedly a striker, and only selected to be a foil to Rooney by...

Capello - I suspect that the plan was to pander to the wishes of the 'stars' - Rooney wants Heskey, he gets Heskey. Rob Green? Really? David James was in a relegated team that did nothing much else but get to a cup final (which is pretty good in and of itself, admittedly) but too many players went missing for too long, with no clear plan B. The movement that Germany displayed put the Premiership to shame today, and you get the impression that this German team was never studied and planned for. But then again, what do I know?

How do you tell the difference between a distraught post-game Gerrard and the frowning Gerrard being interviewed by Sky 12-24 hours earlier?  He always has a frown on his face.

As they lined up to come on the pitch, they all looked nervous, scared and/or stressed (or was that focus?).

Anyway, my vote went for Capello for being an obviously stubborn man that wasn't willing to change things up when we were down.

Rooney, because he can be so much better.  I don't know if he is carrying an injury.  Seems more like he is carrying a grudge (fallen out with player(s) and/or the manager.

Terry, because he's supposed to be a leader, yet he couldn't guide the inexperienced Upson.  Plus I think he lost the plot...months ago.

Lampard, because he's past it or just doesn't give a toss when he plays for England.

Tomorrow we will hear all the same old excuses as each player is interviewed.  They don't even have the intelligence to show a bit of humility and shame!

You have to lay this on Capello I'm afraid. True the players didn't show fight, no passion, no belief we could win in any game we played. But it shows that we had no leader. Not one of them believed in Capello's tactics and their mental state was always one of defeat - from the moment we landed in South Africa.

True the manager can't 'make' players perform, it's up to them. But it is his job after a tough start i.e. the first two games to sit them down and get them playing. A lot now are saying that we are just not good enough to keep up with the best sides, and we aren't. But we fcuking should be.

Newest news from Capello is that they are "tired" from a long season.

So, we are to presume that all the other countries' teams/players didn't participate in a season prior to the campaign?  And, while we are at it, lets not forget that most of the best players play in England, Spain and Italy, so have played just as much as our players.

Predictable excuse. I never expected him to be brutally honest and say "we are just rubbish". Seems like Fabio is going through the motions, saying the minimum he can to get through an interview, and needs to go.

To be honest, I'd be tired if I went clubbing most nights and was at it with slappers like a rabbit. Give the lads some slack.

It's a tough life. All these doctors and nurses moan about how hard life is and their 20-30 hour shifts but they just have no idea. They want to try being an England footballer at a World Cup.

Maybe some good can come out of this debarcle, that being football fans in this country will no longer find footballers behaviour acceptable. Maybe not though, did anyone see Gerrard coming out of court the other week after the DJ trial. There were plenty of poeple there, some parents with kids, just dying to get his autograph. I did start to wonder if it was just me who thought he was a feral tosser who should've got chinned that night.

Well I said this yesterday to someone, getting battered off Germany is the one result that is deemed completely unacceptable by England as a nation. If it was close we could blame the officials, if it was penalties it's their fault. But when it's 4-1 there is only one way the blame can go and that's at the playing and coaching staff.

So you never know, it might be the wake-up call that the country needs and will tell the players that fans have had enough. We don't actually care what car/bird/house you have or what you've done wrong and got away with. We only want passion and belief in the side, and we would actually prefer those seen as "B-team" players to wear the shirt because at least they know what it means to wear it.

Then again, the country is obsessed with celebrity so maybe nothing will change.

Has anyone seen the interview with Gordon Taylor? I'm not a violent woman, but if I see him at the Reebok stadium next season, he'd better be quicker than me.
What an utter tosser!

What's he said? I refuse to even attempt to watch any interviews with anyone connected with England right now, I didn't even see the post-match things as to be quite honest no words will cut it. The "performance(s)" said it all for me.

Anyone who says the players (his union folk) aren't all that bothered is stupid. Really? I'd just say we're a little less stupid than you, Gordon if you believe a word those shysters say!

It'll never happen. You only need to look at people on here and the way they can't see bad in any Bolton player. Football fans are brainwashed into thinking footballers are Gods.

I'm pretty sure Chongy Lee could kill all Didle's family and Didle would still roast his pet dog and invite Lee for tea.

Upson is not fit to clean Gary Cahill's boots. The same for Heskey and Super Kev.
