OK - 4 votes - the 19 players who played and the manager - who were the biggest failures of the summer?
NB - you can vote for up to 4 people if you want BUT you only can vote the once.

Upson by a country mile was shown up for the defender he really is and now hopefully the england manager will realise just how shite he is, fcúk the guy can't manage kevin davies so what chance did he have against Klose.

Shocked im the only one to have voted for Johnson so far. Never seen a defender so incapable of defending. His attacking threat means nothing to us if he isn't going to do what he's actually in the team for, ie stopping the other team scoring goals.
Upson is obviously no better and should never have even been in the squad. I also went for Rooney for doing nothing for the whole of his time in the World Cup and Capello for getting almost everything completly wrong.

Their were so many crap performances it was hard to take stock on them all really.

Capello - squad selection, team selection, tactics - all very, very wrong!
Green - should not even have been in the squad let alone first choice keeper - but even so should not have let such a weak goal in - otherwise we would have had an opening win, toped the group and a different (more positive) attitude from the start of the tournament
Upson - again should not have been playing - confidence could not have been high after season with West Ham, then further weakended by King then Carragher being selected ahead of him. Dreadful defending.
Terry - completely different player when alongside a centre half with a brain. No use being 100% committed and throw yourself into everything when a smarter player can read the game and position themselves much better. Failed drastically moving away from the left hand side of the centre back position. Might as well of played the Chuckle Brothers than Terry and Upson!

I chose the people that I was the most disapointed in and expected alot more from than the ones that we knew were shíte to begin with like Green and Upson.
Capello - He is a stubborn Italian prick who's refusal to move away from the prehistoric 4 4 2 formation has pissed away another world cup campaign and his refusal to try anybody different than his usual trusted sacks of shite.
Johnson - He would have been my choice for Right Back before the tournament admittedly but he was just shown to have abosutely no positional sense and no footballing brain. He seems to think that defending is somebody elses job and he can just fcúk off upfield and switch off when it comes to defending.
Lampard- I am shocked nobody else has voted for him, granted he was probably one of our better outfield players today but that is not saying much however the only thing worse than playing shite is going into hiding and not trying to influence the game. In 3 group games he made little impact whatsoever and it was to the point that I forgot he was even on the fcuking pitch.
Wayne " World Class" Rooney - Well where do I start, I just cant believe how poor he was considering he was supposed to be our only chance at world cup glory. Credit to him unlike Lampard he did want the ball and try to do things but it sadly just didnt go right for whatever reason. He really was that poor that you have to wonder why the hell he did play so poorly whether it be injury or other reasons and I for one would love to know what he puts his poor form down to.

My award for being totally shite at your job but still earning in excess of £6 mill per year is awarded jointly to Capello and Rooney.

Rooney has never got over that ankle injury. The stats don't lie. He scored 29 goals in 27 games for club and country and was in the form of his career since the greasy fanny fucked off to Madrid. Fergie rushed him back way too quickly and both Man Utd and England suffered. He hasn't scored a goal since and can't even control the ball let alone fcuking score.
Anyway Sharps, you said that you hoped Rooney's ankle was fucked so it stopped the 'Munichs' winning the league even at the expense of England. Looks like that's exactly what happened! Feel good?
At least Argentina are doing well though eh?

Either way a Rooney on form wouldnt have been able to atone for the other abysmal performances and dont be too harsh on Cristiano for leaving you for a better club it happens to all clubs at some point. Besides I actually said that as I dont believe we can win the world cup anyway and I was right so shut your munich trap.

As this is a Bolton site shouldn't there be an option of the fans' poor support being the biggest cause of failure?
After all some Bolton fans do blame the supporters for their previous managers crap results.

I love to reply but I'm stunned that you used the word atone.
A fully fit Rooney would have surely made a difference. True, we wouldn't have won, but I doubt it would have been as painful as it was.
Like I said, I couldn't give a shíte anyway. Glad you feel the same! Argentina all the way!

You cannot say we and then say I couldnt give a shite, I am quite bemused by your disinterest in the England National Team. Granted they are a bunch of overpaid ego maniacs but they are what it says on the tin the English National Team. Are you anti English in all walks of life or just when it comes to football?

Just when it comes to football.
I'm actually suprised you care so much for England. Surely it must be a knife in the stomach having to cheer on the Munichs like Rooney and, erm, wow, there's not many in the squad. Carrick perhaps. I know I can't bring myself to cheer on Ashley Cole, Lampard, Terry, Gerrard, even Rooney. So I don't!
As soon as this 'golden generation' retires and we bring through some new, young players with a hunger for the shirt then I might actually give a shíte! Today might be the best thing that could ever happen to England if it prompts a huge overhaul in the squad.
Clear out the deadwood and persist in younger players like Johnson, Young, Lennon etc or the one's on form like Dawson and Bent etc.

I am the same as you, I cannot bring myself to cheer for a lot of these players. I know Rio Ferdinand went home after his injury but I cannot stand him. I hate a lot of these players, they don't care shíte, they think they are doing the country and fans a favour for playing. They aren't arsed about the fans at all. They probably think the fans who go out and support them are mugs. They didn't applaud the fans yet again, same old story from the England players. You just have to see Rooney's comments after the Algeria game to see what he thinks of the fans. The players who should have played for us today should be players like Adam Johnson, Agbonlahor, Dawson - players who want to be out there and will give everything.

I am very passionate about my country and I want anything associated with England to do well even if I don't like that sport such as Rugby Union or whatever. I don't care what club any of the England players play for because they are English as am I and like I said as much as they are all rich celebrities makes no difference to me as I want my country to win. I can get my head round people not liking the players because of there celebrity status however it is the country of they're birth that they are supporting and not any individual players.

John Terry I am guessing was applauding the fans and not the players effort so you are wrong to say nobody appreciated the fans effort.

Before the world cup the media was saying oh take Upson because he has experience and you can't play Dawson or take Cahill because they have never played in a high pressured world cup before but its all bollocks really if your good enough then you should go.
Oh and by the way talk about being a 2 faced fanny, Bent scores for fun in a Sunderland side and doesn't get picked but Heskey just because he can win the odd header is automatically 2nd choice striker, its all bollocks!

I'm in the same boat as you DH with England, although I do always try to make an effort for World Cups. Last time I really cared about England was 2002. No coincidence it overlaps with when I first started supporting Bolton. Low point was England failing to qualify for Euro 2008 where part of me was happy when we lost to Croatia and I cheered the final Croatia goal to knock us out.
Where my feelings go next with England depend both on who the manager is and the line-up on the pitch for our next England match. If it's much of the same bunch then I am 'Diouf-retiring' from England until someone comes in with balls to drop the failures.

Good points. A lot of people have recognised that Upson is a liability in defence, he had a very poor season and made a lot of mistakes. Dawson was superb for Spurs this season. Its crazy how Upson was ahead of Dawson in the pecking order. And yes Bent scores goals, Heskey doesn't score any, but Capello decided to take Heskey. I suppose to be fair Heskey does try hard and is supposed to be a dream for other players to play with. This may sound a bit crazy but I think it would be a good idea to have basically picked as many players from one team who play together week in week out and will play for each other - i.e. Spurs. Could have had today King, Dawson, Lennon, Crouch, Defoe, Huddlestone (I know he wasn't in the squad but my point is if we picked all from the same team at least they will gel). And Big Sharps, I apologise if I was wrong, I was just listening to what Alan Green said on 606.

Not saying your wrong Shaft but I could try hard for england but I will never be good enough and neither is Heskey, maybe he was in the same period we put 5 past them but he certainly is not now.
What is Alan Green saying on 606 by the way?

Alan Green said that none of the players applauded the fans at the final whistle, they swapped shirts and then walked off. He was saying that the players didn't care and wanted to get back home to their Ferraris.

As much as I think Green's s dick,I thought it looked that way on the tv. All very casual & the only tears I saw were Beckhams. I expected a bit of lying on the floor head in hands at the very least. If you're going to get tonked like that then at least look like you give a monkey's. Balls to em, tossers.

I dont see why that potato picking oirish fucker cares anyway, what he knows about football you could fit on the back of a stamp. Terry clapped and gerrard did look bothered by it although that could have all been for show.

When you say clapped & bothered, cast your mind back to 1990. Now, I ask again, did they really look like they gave a shiny one?
